Hello this is going to sound silly and while yes its a silly name I have no reason to change it. I have gotten flagged twice for having the name Buttcheek in classic anniversary. If I don’t speak outside of party and guild chat I’m fine but once I speak in trade chat I get kicked and flagged for the name buttcheek.
I have seen people with actual offensive names and have reported several of them today and they are still in game as we speak… Racist names, names with butt in it and far worse. But i get instantly removed and flagged when I speak? I put in appeal in and I get told that community deems it inappropriate and they are enforcing the rules. How does that make sense when their are people with butt in their name, racism in their names, sexual things etc. ({Removed} They are all in game and can be searched. They have been reported but they are allowed to keep playing with the name?) How do I instantly get removed but the people yelling disgusting things in chat with disgusting names that I am reporting are just allowed to keep doing so? How is this fair that I am getting instantly kicked and forced to change but the people my wife and I are reporting with actual offensive names continue? I have even sent screenshots of the names and my appeal gets closed.
Your not allowed to name toons after body parts. Mass reports = account action is a urban myth like big foot and the loch ness monster all it takes is one report to get a acount action if its legit violation.
That is ridiculous considering I reported 10+ people with the name butt in their names and they are still in game and just fine. Go into the game and search the word butt in /who and plenty of people just fine. But when I speak I get kicked
REports take time to process.
To be frank, what other folks names are have no bearing on your action. And no, you don’t get instantly action from reports, that’s not how the system works. A gm deem the name as not allowed within the rules.
That’s the policy. I somehow imagine that it isn’t a high priority report, and they won’t tell you when they change someone’s name either.

That name is a clear violation of the naming policy! Best to have better choices in names.
Other players names has nothing to do with this and looking at names in the armory is not a updated list as some of them might not have logged in for sometime. Plus naming violations only happen when someone reports you.
I am in game , this is all live in game. I am not looking at the armory. This has to do with other people. If I cannot have the word butt in my name why are plenty of people currently running around in anniversary next to me with the name butt?
Blizzards doesnt actively hunt bad names or bots they rely on player reporst sure they keep a eye on hotspots for bots but they dont actively watch the spots.
You can try to excuse it but blizzards reasoning is the community deems it inappropriate but there are 30+ people currently online in anniversary with the word butt in it and much worse then buttcheek. Names much worse. If you know the people who play classic you would understand why this is dumb.

Before anyone says you wont know, just go in game and to the who section and search the names up you will see them in game. That is how I know they are still here
You’re more likely to get reported in a public channel. GMs don’t prowl looking for chat actions or inappropriate names, they investigate the reports made. Yours was actioned because it was flagrant. Also, it’s not instant, it takes time to process reports.
Other peoples names is not relevant to you being sanctioned.
Apeal thats all you can do the ones that handle tickets dont come here nor do the blues have any sway over the outcome.
You won’t get notified when other accounts get actioned. I’ve no doubt that they get hit with a rename and possible suspension when it comes up in the report system and a GM sees it.
Heres the thing sure they could have a forced name change but they could be cute and rename it the same name and guess what blizzard will be even harsher if they have to hand out a 2nd rename.

Then report them and move on. It doesn’t change the policy that exists for names. It’s really not relevant to you getting flagged for a rename. You broke the rule, the GM applied the rename flag, that’s it. You can probably appeal it, but I would not expect anything to come from that because it is pretty black and white.
