Yep. But he is baiting you man. Report, ignore, move on. He is trying to get your forum account silenced. He will get his usual forum vacation soon. Don’t fall for the immaturity.
You’re going to claim that if someone opposed to the auto squelch was never squelched their opinion doesn’t count and if a person opposed to the auto squelch was squelched at some point, they obviously deserved the squelch, so their opinion doesn’t count, either?
It’s not even a case of he thinks the system in his favor.
It has everything to do with the system being far from vanilla and the fact that the vast majority of those who desire a truer classic experience oppose the auto squelch.
It really IS that simple.
I mean, look at him claiming that an auto ignore without the auto squelch tied to it is “reactive” because you can’t report something until you’ve already seen it/ He complete ignores (and hopes others miss) the fact that even the auto squelch is “reactive” for the same reason.
Sorry, are you attempting to say that it takes less time to look at 10 individual reports in a pile of hundreds if not thousands of others for other infractions, than it does to look at a squelch and view the post that was flagged?
When squelched they would not need to look at each and every report leading up to it, but rather just what was reported to trigger the squelch. If they view the reported post and find it a breach of the TOS they need never look at the actual right click reports.
That’s why I suggested simply removing the auto squelch portion and leaving the rest of the system as it is. Doing that would still “flag” the account for manual review ASAP if the target report number threshold was reached, but would not include that auto squelch. This means that when that target report number is reached and the account “flagged”, the GM’s would not need to look at each and every report leading up to it, but rather just what was reported to trigger that flag.
The only real differences would be that Blizzard would never need to overturn a squelch and Blizzard would be the only one handing out punishment because players would not be able to take matters into their own hands and try to punish other players with a squelch for whatever little slight they felt they were forced to suffer.
You’ve got a certain poster in this thread saying that reports shouldn’t even be investigated to determine if they were legitimate or if someone was abusing the system.
