False reporting and automated ban

This is how you end up with a chat that only the worst people use. There’s no backbone in tolerating poor behavior.

You went to mommy first

Yep. But he is baiting you man. Report, ignore, move on. He is trying to get your forum account silenced. He will get his usual forum vacation soon. Don’t fall for the immaturity.

That’s basically what I got out of that statement and I don’t wanna get caught so shut up and don’t report. Lol

Yes. It is. The tree makes a sound and the light goes off in the fridge as well. Lol

But if I speak my opinion in the middle of a forrest and my wife is not around to hear it, am I still wrong?

I find it curios that a player like Ziryus would be in favor of a system that will with out question be used against him.

I know he thinks that the system is in his favor, but what he doesn’t understand is that most people consider him a troll.

I have never been squelched.

Wait. Let me guess.

You’re going to claim that if someone opposed to the auto squelch was never squelched their opinion doesn’t count and if a person opposed to the auto squelch was squelched at some point, they obviously deserved the squelch, so their opinion doesn’t count, either?

“We” is clearly himself and the rest of asmondfool’s drones.

Tack one more on to the list of unlikely players I am in agreement with on this subject. Hell, I am even going to give him a heart.

It’s not even a case of he thinks the system in his favor.

It has everything to do with the system being far from vanilla and the fact that the vast majority of those who desire a truer classic experience oppose the auto squelch.

It really IS that simple.

I mean, look at him claiming that an auto ignore without the auto squelch tied to it is “reactive” because you can’t report something until you’ve already seen it/ He complete ignores (and hopes others miss) the fact that even the auto squelch is “reactive” for the same reason.

Sorry, are you attempting to say that it takes less time to look at 10 individual reports in a pile of hundreds if not thousands of others for other infractions, than it does to look at a squelch and view the post that was flagged?

When squelched they would not need to look at each and every report leading up to it, but rather just what was reported to trigger the squelch. If they view the reported post and find it a breach of the TOS they need never look at the actual right click reports.

Has evidence been shown that those reporting players did not receive punishment for doing so?

Has evidence been provided proving that those reporting players WERE actually punished?

That’s why I suggested simply removing the auto squelch portion and leaving the rest of the system as it is. Doing that would still “flag” the account for manual review ASAP if the target report number threshold was reached, but would not include that auto squelch. This means that when that target report number is reached and the account “flagged”, the GM’s would not need to look at each and every report leading up to it, but rather just what was reported to trigger that flag.

The only real differences would be that Blizzard would never need to overturn a squelch and Blizzard would be the only one handing out punishment because players would not be able to take matters into their own hands and try to punish other players with a squelch for whatever little slight they felt they were forced to suffer.

Why are many forum vacations overturned? You know, the ones passed down by blizzard staff.

I am betting that you have an in game laundry list of forced vacations, if the way you conduct yourself here is any indication.

You’ve got a certain poster in this thread saying that reports shouldn’t even be investigated to determine if they were legitimate or if someone was abusing the system.

I must have missed that, who and cite please?
