Um no you didn’t, lol. Nothing i have said in this thread is in defense of squelching. Not even remotely, what you are asking is not even 20 posts back now.
I was responding to what someone said, was not defending squelch at all, kind of hard to defend something I clearly stated I supported being removed, lol.
Sure did! Someone being a jerk? Ignore them! You never hear them again. If they do it to much? They get banned! (Back then they didn’t even have a silence you just got banned). I know this because it happened to me all the time when I thought I was cool with that middle finger art I would give to people and would get banned all the time for it.
Sure as long as it isn’t an automated banning system. Why didn’t you just say that? Because everything you said hours ago was defending the auto-squelching aspect of it.
kind of OT but there are times I like the new forums and times I don’t, like when i mouse wheel up to read a couple of posts back and somehow end up 100 posts back. But yah those links take you where you want to go.
“Acceptable behavior is determined by player reports and Blizzard’s decision,”
So the fact that players decided to report a behavior means that behavior can be deemed unacceptable by blizzard. Reporting people for swearing so that they get actioned is not falsley reporting. The action is just automatic (if enough other people report too, a single report doesn’t squelch) and quicker now. And definitely, the auto squelch seems to be abusable, but your argument makes no sense.
Just an question from someone who doesn’t do any PvP in retail, does this happen a ton? In my mind, if I was doing premade BG groups and it was super competitive, wouldn’t it make sense to just have everyone always report the other team’s healer? I’m not looking for a ton for accusations of me being a cheater/advocating abusing the system, I just feel like it would be an inherent part of competitive bgs at this point.
I genuinely want to know if someone who plays ranked bgs can say how much this happens.
I suspect Classic will follow the same rule set as Live on this issue. It would be doubtful that Actiblizz will spend man hours changing the features, then more man hours on additional GMs.
It doesn’t mean that people can’t discuss their feelings on the subject and give feedback. Yes Ahel, this is feedback.
What makes me curious is why you are on the Classic forum. You have stated that you won’t be playing this game and yet here you are on this thread discussing something that will have absolutely zero impact on you.
That’s really funny because I have been banned from WoW back in vanilla and tbc and wotlk for doing just that. It does work, they just changed it to another more ‘efficient’ way so they don’t have to worry about it.
Blizzard changed the system because they found it didn’t work. People shrugged off ingame bans; it took a LOT to get a permanent ban.
The current system works. The offenders either learn to change their behavior and offend no more, or they’re literally never heard from by the rest of the player base again.
Yeah it does work. It’s also abused by multiboxers, pvp teams, guilds, and streamers fan base who also use this system. Something that didn’t work with the old system that also worked but took a little more man power
Maybe if your interpretation of people opinions did not swing so widely they would be more consistent to you?
Not a single one of those quotes point to you as a “#changer” as you accused me of doing. My stance on AV has been unwavering: AV 1.12 is the least vanilla AV of them and would be an injustice to simply fart that out. I am not going to go back and read the source of all of your cherrypicked quotes, but
What is less stale about the streamlined race? Feel free to take the discussion to the AV threads that exist.
Yet another person who is anti right click squelching who has bans on their accounts in the past. How utterly shocking.
