Ive never heard of that happening.

BTW even if they doā€¦they are the ones that will be penalised.

Well you said never. I just wanted you to know that it could happen and ruin my gaming night. My old job had me working 12+ hours every day on contract where every other week or so Iā€™d get a few days time off to relax. Iā€™d hate if I got auto-squelched during that time ruining my game night just because Activision-Blizzard allowed an abusable system to stay in the game.

And this is exactly why people should be allowed to call people who ninja or do other nefarious things. They shouldnā€™t be able to just get away with it because it isnā€™t exactly against the TOS.

id say the chances are as close to zero as makes no odds.

Been there.

just because Blizzard allowed an abusable system to stay in the game.

I saw these same doomsday predictions when the system came in.

Hasnt happened yet.

Ever hear the words slander and libel?

They shouldnā€™t be able to just get away with it because it isnā€™t exactly against the TOS.

Might I suggest you get yourself over to a place called Salem in Massachusetts some day?

The visit might prove educational for you.

You are implying the person who ninjaā€™d is innocent. When they are not.

You are saying they did when you have no proof to back it up.

People always have proof. Screenshots. People even made videos of people ninjaā€™ing loot even back in 2004.

Can be and have been edited and tampered with. Photoshop. Thats why they arent accepted as any kind of proof.

I can make a video of Godzilla visiting Palm Beach.

Nah people never have proofā€¦they just blindly followed what others said.

I see. Where just trying to up our post count now. Well then https://youtu.be/JMylc2Or1Ic never happened.

Iā€™d agree to be skeptical on a first time offender, maybe. But, if more players witness, more evidence piles up, itā€™s hard to say that all this stuff is just being made up. I also doubt so many people would put in that kind of effort to slander a player.

Itā€™s also scary to imagine that in real life. Imagine a thief being caught on camera and his defense ā€œThat video was edited to have my face!ā€ was actually accepted.

Do you really want a full list of cases that have been proven to have had evidence that was tampered with, altered? Where the video ā€œevidenceā€ was altered to frame people

Iā€™d agree to be skeptical on a first time offender, maybe

Gullty until proven innocent huh?

itā€™s hard to say that all this stuff is just being made up

Yet history is replete with examples of lynch mobs using manufactured or non existent evidence.

I also doubt so many people would put in that kind of effort to slander a player.

I dont doubt it at all

This entire thread is proof of it.

Not really. I want to play WoW not be a criminal evidence analyst. Iā€™m sure it will probably happen, and thatā€™s where the forum drama starts. If I see a screenshot of someone ninjaā€™ing an item on reddit on my server you better believe Iā€™ll have them on a blacklist with a note to myself. Reading all the reddit posts about it will provide beautiful subjective evidence for why my blacklist is validated.

The fact that you will blindly take it at face value says it all.

Iā€™m not saying there isnā€™t cases where evidence is tampered. Just, clear as day video of a person being refused would be crazy unless they could prove it was tampered with. And how does that say guilty until proven innocent? There was a claim with evidence provided.

I mean, what you are implying is that we just never call out ninjas. That these people just get away with their malicious deeds. That seems pretty crazy to me.
Like, imagine a real life situation. A guy walks in a murders someone but managed to not level any evidence except: thereā€™s 39 witnesses, each took pictures and video clearly showing this guys face.
His defense ā€œThis is slander, that pictures and video were edited and the 39 witness are trying to ruin my reputationā€. Judge declares him innocent. That would be utter madness!

What are the requirements for someone to get on your blacklist then? Being personally ninja looted against doesnā€™t seem like the best approach to avoid losing all those items.

Quickly Aehl I need your expert opinion on this ninja video. I need to know. Do. I. Blacklist. https://youtu.be/W9tK-PD45X0

Why in Gods name would I have one in the first place? I dont HAVE a blacklist. Nor am I the type to be that petty.

Seeing as that was

  1. Eleven years ago and the player is long goneā€¦

and

  1. Its a comedy video, not that you noticedā€¦

ā€¦I wouldnt worry.

Phew ok. I was concerned that maybe that actual act of ninja looting was good enough to warrant a blacklist.

I find sticky notes to be far more effective. They come in different colors and allow for tracking players that you donā€™t want to group with. Itā€™s simply better than using ignore. Especially when joining public groups that youā€™re not the leader of and trying to recall why you donā€™t want to play with one of those group members.
