Once again, personal/guild reputation means nothing in live.

In classic, though, personal/guild reputation will mean everything.

so? the point I am making is that what is being bandied about as a sure thing to happen, does not happen in live, or rather nowhere near how people are trying to make it out to be.

This is why I feel that any action should be left to Blizzard and not put in the players’ hands.

I’m all for making it easier to report someone you think is violating that COC by adding the right click report system with an auto ignore.

I do NOT support that right click report system being tied to an auto squelch.

Ahh I see. You can read my mind and know what I’ll report you for. Indeed that is the difference between us. Tread carefully unless you know what I consider offensive. For the mods this is not a threat or harassment but a sarcastic observation at the vague language used in the CoC/EULA.

You’re trying to nitpick here, the language blizzard uses protects themselves. Don’t expect blizzard to uphold anything unless it’s quite obviously racist, vulgar, or a credible threat.

lol no it is common sense as to what could be offensive, and vulgar is beyond obvious.

Are you indirectly calling me stupid that I can’t understand this concept? What if I have poor social skills and this is triggering me? I come to these forums to discuss things not be made fun off.

To a solo player like yourself, maybe.

Yeah? So? I get that.

People who do not want to see X are not forced to continue to digest X. Should they not be silenced, just ignore them, which you could have done from the start.

This may be difficult to swallow, but trolls, idiots, along with a host of other personality types, have just as much right to play as you. Sad to day, but it’s true. I’ve seen your other posts, what you seek is punishment. Too subjective for any player to take in their own hands.

You’re in a much better place in the game than IRL, where muting and ignoring people is not always an option.

Lol ok, i say what I mean sorry, so no.

It is not hard to not know if something can be offensive and vulgar? come on really?

They are two different environments.

Live has cross realm and players are unlikely to see each other on anything resembling a regular basis.

Classic will be single server only and you will see the same players again and again.

The environment of classic is much more inviting of abuse of the right click report auto squelch than the environment of live.

IF Blizzard does add the right click report auto squelch system, I would hope that they are willing to remove that auto squelch if the right click report system is abused.

, have just as much right to play as you.

They dont have any “rights”…whatsoever. You do not have a “right” to play WOW.

Bliuzzard could ban you tomorrow and you have zero reason to argue.

Their game their rules.

It’s ok. I have pretty good idea of what people consider offensive these days but one look at how Activision-Blizzard is handling that in Overwatch, which seems to share CoC/EULA, isn’t very promising for banter.

it makes no difference, people are trying to put forth a narrative that this system will be abused constantly, yet that isn’t the case right now in Live.

I do see what you are saying here, if it was truly going to happen the way people are making it out to be, it wouldnt matter.

Though I do tend to agree about the auto squelch, replace it with a flag that GMs can see, which would allow the truly guilty to be punished, and the false reported would not get squelched.

You apparently don’t get it nor do a lot of others, one person reporting you will not get you silenced. If you get silenced you just have to accept that whatever stupid thing you said was not appreciated by a large portion of your audience and they’re letting you know that.

really just avoid the big 3 is a good place to start, past that it’s anyones guess.

Oh shooters are way worse than MMOs though honestly.

In classic, though, personal/guild reputation will mean everything.

Or what? Online lynch mobs? Unproven allegations? Vendettas? Public shaming?

That is all we are asking. Leave ALL action, including squelch, in Blizzard’s hands.

No one is asking to be exempt from the EULA or COC.

then we agree honestly at the core issue of this anyway, just not on whether or not it would be as widespread as some think it would be.
