That depends on your guild. Guild bank rights as you’re aware can be given all willy nilly or not at all.
Contributions can be made and then access to the materials you donated could be barred!
Decent guilds that exorcise fair behavior deal the same with the guild bank alts as they do with the system guild banks because donation records are kept on the guild web page. remember those?
The problem with the guild bank system is that while it does detail what’s been added to the guild bank and who took things from it; no protection from Blizzard is offered at all if some one who has rights takes things and uses / sells those materials either on the AH or to other non-guild players for personal gain.
It’s just an unfortunate no-win situation that Blizzard has no fixed even with the guild bank system. IMO the system is more a nod to convenience than anything because no longer do we have to wait for the GB alt to be accessed by its owner and the mats be dispersed in person.
That’s the only advantage I actually see with the guild bank system; just convenience.
Whether Johnny supports guild banks or guild bank alts, he supports a system which the opposition notes can be abused.
Opposing a non vanilla system that can be abused (guild banks) is not inconsistent with opposing a non vanilla system that can be abused (auto squelch).
Blizzard even stated in an interview that guild banks were being added due to the convemirnce that brought.
Ironically, that article was linkd by one of the biggest pro guild bank advocates when he was asked to substantiate his claim that guild banks were supposed to be in the game during vanilla, if not at launch.
Funny thing is that the article he linked only mentions the convenience they offer as the reason they were added. Thereis nothing about security, account sharing, scams, exploitable systems, guild banks supposed to be in the game at launch, etc.
It’s pretty much the same for everything on the forums. I mean, go to all categories and sort by views. The highest viewed thread on the forums has 47k views. That’s nothing but a tiny blip of their overall population. Basically anything that has been said on the forums has just been “the vocal minority”.
The top replied threads is some off-topic thread and the High Elf(lol) thread at 11k.
Now, we don’t know WoW’s current population. So, who knows. Maybe 47k isn’t just a small blip in the population anymore. But, if it isn’t, that would be pretty sad!
E: You know what has always been the most surprising to me. The Chinese forums. Last time Blizzard showed sub numbers, China made up like 50%. Yet, their forums are the most dead of them all from what I’ve seen.
Gotta love that Chinese surveillance society model eh? Couldn’t pay me enough to go work in China ever again. That place is the ruin of modern society.
I have been an avid user of trade chat across various servers. I have touched upon topics, ranging from Gnomes, Real-World Politics, in-game politics, horrible jokes, some troll-like behavior about how to rid the world of Gnomes and generally trying to get Trade chat more active.
I haven’t been silenced ONCE. Not ONCE have I been silenced, even though sometimes I post some, really, really dumb things!
I think people are blowing the muting thing out of proportion. So many are afraid to get muted, but I think muting is only reserved for really bad cases such as racism or real-life threats.
Everytime me or someone I know argues with a pro vote ban boy they just right click report us till we’re banned. I got banned from the forums for calling them trolls lol and in my repeal ticket i wrote out about 4 pages to blizz and read out to them their own ToC, along with the definition of trolling, then proceeded to apologize on behalf of Websters dictionary for not saying “calling someone a troll counts as trolling.” I did not get a repeal, instead they just told me “Due to your accounts 14 year report history we will not shorten or remove your ban” like as if they didn’t even read the topic in question or my ticket at all and the sht I said at 11yh is somehow relevant today.
So with that nonsense of not being treated as a valued customer, im done with this topic in general and these pro-change-(insert probably bannable insulting name here). Gj prochangers ya won your argument with right click reporting away everyone who disagrees with you. You must be so proud.
People around here if you make topics that already are being discussed get upset.
Since we already had this one going.
I’ve seen videos of what you could do with right click report. But for the muting it looks like it needs to be a bunch of reports in a short amount of time.
Funny how you are Never at fault and it’s always the other people who are wrong, you would think an intelligent person would learn over time when they are continuously targeted and silenced that they may be at fault in some way,but nah much more likely that everybody reporting you all just Cucks.
– rubs temple-- Stop comparing China to moderation on a damned website or video game, they’re not even in the same leauge of similarity’s you might as well be comparing Auschwitz to Cubscouts you’re delusional.
Perhaps you should look into dropping your citizenship and living off the grid somewhere removed from the shackles of society you find so abhorrent.
Wow. Imagine your reputation following you around and being important or something later down the road. What a concept. Now where have we heard “your reputation matters” before?
Yea. It’s a stacking debuff. Don’t stand in the bad…
It’s likely reviewed by a bot. Some call it AI now days or learning algorithms, I just call em bots because no matter how advanced they get, they’re soulless bots.
100% correct, and it’s truly the unfortunate wave of the future. All Customer service jobs, heck even lawyers, even a very large portion of the medical field will be replaced by bots and robots within the next 35 years.
In the next 50 I can easily see a very large portion of the workforce entirely replaced by some sort of AI, no matter the job, because these new learning algorithms keep getting better and better and better simply because they can re-write them selves as they go.
It’s gotten kinda crazy in some situations, a lot of the once was jobs have already been replaced entirely by bots. Almost all of Wallstreet stock exchange is 100% bots, heck even Google is looking to replace the vast majority of its work force with bots. Those people don’t even realize they are writing them selves out of a job.
Its an interesting problem, thankfully I will be long retired by the time this sort of madness destroys what’s left of civilized society.
Heck even the game developers are going to end up jobless because bots may not be that creative, but only a very small hand full of game designers will be needed who have semi-complete ideas to feed the concept to the bot army and bam, 10 min later you have a working prototype.
