I think we may have found the root cause of this poster’s insistence that he be given the option to collude with his friends and guild mates to squelch any other player for any reason.
Is it possible that he knows that his behavior is likely to earn him a spot on those “blacklists” or being “named and shamed” and is looking for way to protect himself from the consequences of his behavior?
If that is his fear, even the right click report will not save him, as those blacklists and any naming and shaming will likely be done out of game on sites that Blizzard cannot control.
I do NOT agree with player being given the option to collude with friends and/or guild mates to auto squelch other players for whatever reason they want, even if the player they are trying to squelch never broke any rules.
Yet to date I have never heard of this happening.
Link the right click report to an auto ignore, not an auto squelch, and let the GM’s review and determine what action, if any, is necessary.
Doesnt work like this on live, wont work like this in Classic.

So in one case it isnt mob justice, and the other is? Kinda a double standard, dont you think?

Looks to me like someone doesn’t want to have to face the consequences for their behavior.
Colluding with your friends and guild mates to squelch another player isn’t targeted harassment?
BTW, using sites that Blizzard does not control to “name and shame” will likely be happening, so it might behoove some to adjust their behavior so they avoid finding their names on those sites.
You’ve never heard of it happening in a game where player reputation means nothing? It’s happened, but it is not as common as it will likely be in classic.
In classic, where player reputation is everything, though? I expect that players attempting to auto squelch other players will be much more common.
Not everyone in the Classic community is as toxic and negative as Williams and crew. They’re just loud voices on a forum where they’ve chased away most of the viewpoints opposite of theirs.
I would like to understand, and how you came up with the notion that “Williams and crew” (I’m assuming I’m part of the “crew”, part 'cause I just so happen to be in alignment, with their viewpoint) are “toxic”. Genuinely curious how you came up with that 'cause I’d like to know what was said, so I can avoid doing it, in the future.
Ya know what even tho I don’t agree with much of what you say, at least you actually want to play Classic. That’s at least respectable vs that Aehl guy.
You may think I’m toxic, and you may think I have a crew, but I am just one guy who wants the same old game back without any modern-day junk included.
This would be different if old Blizzard was still old Blizzard, but it’s not, and I plainly do not trust Activision to do anything. It’s very obvious that they will ruin anything via good intentions or grand negligent action.
Think of me how you like, it’s just a simple fact that most people interested in Classic WoW are like me and distrust modern development, modern companies, and do not actually want the game changed from its 2004 to 2006 original features and functions.
No, I don’t consider everyone in alignment with their views to be part of their crew. I don’t think I’ve had an issue with your posts here, or at least I don’t remember responding to anything you’ve posted. I’m not at odds with every no-changer on this forum; I’ve liked plenty of posts from Xecks, Sabetha and others.
We both want classic to be the best possible experience, it’s just that we have a very different way of seeing how that should be done.
Players against changes like me distrust Activision entirely. We don’t want anything they have made since original Classic because it’s not authentic and because Activision will somehow make a mess out of it.
