I can’t really tell if these transfers are just meaningless or actually worse than doing nothing.
Fairbanks should have been merged into Grob, now everyone is just splitting everywhere like a herd of cats, and wherever you go you’re going to be in the same situation, no friends, no community, dying server.
Blizzard needs to merge servers, stop f***ing around. Merge servers, and give discounted server transfers to people who get caught up in the shuffle, and cant stand where they settle.
If Blizzard cut the number of servers in half, and dropped transfers to 5 bucks, the problem would just be straight up solved.

30% off transfers is insulting. They’re 25 dollars! We live in a world where people buy Triple-A games off steam for 2-5 dollars.
I have 5-6 characters. Am I suppose to pay $105 dollars to compensate for Blizzard refusing to maintain their communities??

There’s tons of sites who give very aggressive deals to compete with steam as well. I have like 500 dollars worth of free games I’ve gotten from Epic. Idk get on their email list?

Unfortunately the standard price of character transfer for pretty much every game is $25
25 dollars is already, 200-300% what the price ought to be. Disregarding that it’s per character.
How can you say with an honest face. Hey, if you want to play with your friends, you need to pay over a hundred dollars.
Like, you get nothing, just the ability to maintain your friend group.
You invested your time and effort, and now we’re going to use that to extort money from you. because we neglected to do anything about the population, and faction balances on our servers.

I got toons still wearing gear from 2010 or so when I stopped playing them. It’s just what it is, I’ve been fortunate to have knack for goldmaking in games and used a retail token and 30bucks cash and transferred 3 toons to mankirk. 25 a pop and ill reroll but at 30% off it became doable for me and I packed up 100s of valued items across the three toons transfered gold from my ally bank and hit the road. All I can say is so far been a great investment. I do empathize and would love to bring over my other two thinks but I’m not heartbroken. Personally I think blizzard priced it too high considering classic is a free perk to a retail sub and should not have premium pricing comparatively, they should make it one token equivalent,
I never said it was fair or I believe it should cost something I’m just simply stating that the $25 they charge is pretty standard for all games for transferring it’s not like transferring is free in other games…
It’s the same with the sub fee why do you think all MMO games charge around $15 a month?? That’s just the way it standardized.

How much money have you spent on your sub over the years? 12 years of sub is $2160, and for all of that the best they can do is charge you 75 dollars on top of that of your time / money so you can nothing but continue playing the same game??
It doesn’t cost Blizzard ANY money to transfer a character… All you’re paying for is the permission to be switched.

The way I look at it is I get to have a hobby I like and raid with the homies every week and the hobby is $160/year…that’s pretty cheap for a hobby and by cheap I mean massively cheap.
Even if you need to transfer 5 toons now, you pick a server that will last all thru WOTLK…it’s literally nothing in terms of money VS how much you get out of the game.
Atleast in my opinion.

Well left at end of cata, came back mid legion and pay my sub with tokens for past 3 or 4 years, Ive given blizzard maybe 100 bucks at most, that includes my second account and transfer. I don’t like giving blizzard any money, so for them to get 30 in one pop out of me is saying something.
