Fair Game Play in World of Warcraft Without Discrimination

Actually using keyboard software to re-map keys is not against the rules as long as you aren’t using it to automate gameplay (see delays and repeats above) or using it to streamline multiboxing. I doubt that’s what it was. But again, all we can do is speculate, since we don’t have access to the data. Even Orylia doesn’t have access to the data.

I am sorry if I am incorrect, but I recall people here saying that even if a system isn’t running, Warden can still pick it up. I am glad to be corrected, if I am wrong. And I did state that it was “my understanding “. Essentially, you don’t have to be actually botting to get caught in the net. Am I mistaken?

And yes, I stand by the jaded comment. Nearly everyone here is very helpful, however, there are times people jump immediately into dismissing someone or implying people may be lying. And sometimes, it the condescending “we’ve been through this a thousand times” comments that forgets that it may this persons FIRST time here.
There are a ton of things the average player may not realize if they have not come here before. I’ve learned so much about Blizzard works from reading these forums. It’s quite helpful.

In my very humble opinion, sometimes posters forget that some people are just upset and scared and come here looking for help and a kind word goes a long way. It isn’t always, which is why I said “some”.

Personally, my guilty pleasure is seeing someone being rude about their account action and then being called out on it. However, we must never forget that sometimes, every once in a while, people really don’t realize what they did wrong.

They said they couldn’t map the mouse directly within WoW is what I noticed. Can that be problematic? Wanting to understand.

As long as you’re only remapping a key and obeying the 1 keypress = 1 action rule (not automating stuff with repeats or delays), then no that’s not against the rules. I know a lot of people that do that.

Understood. Thank you for the clarification.

I appreciate everyones help… been wrecking my brain to figure out why, and it helps to get other input. something else to look at…
Its just frustrating.
@Faedrela
I have the Spatha X Mouse, and for some reason Wow doesnt see the side buttons, so the Asus Crate Software lets me assign a Key (F12) in my case to the mouse, and in Wow i have F12 mapped with Bartender… so that makes it work… but as was mentioned it is just a keypress for the mousebutton press, there is no automation.

Gotcha. I misunderstood what you were saying. Unfortunately, I guess I am not as technically savvy as I had hoped. I’ve been learning things but not enough yet.

I hope you can find a solution.

It depends on what it is. If the item in question running is some type of botting software, then yeah Warden can pick it up even if it’s “not being used”. For keyboard/mouse software, that’s not really the case. Pretty much everyone has keyboard/mouse software installed, and while it can be used improperly just having the software is not any sort of violation.

With botting software, all they can really tell is that it’s running, because of the way that software messes with memory there is no way to tell for sure if it’s being used or not.

Like i said, there is nothing I can think of running on this thing for any automation… the only thing that popped into my head here was wen it hit me bout the asus software that stopped fortnight for my son…

I could have sworn, that read that some keyboard and mouse software could be problematic? I’m going to have to research that, unless I could get you to teach me some more.

Isn’t there some mouse or keyboard software that can be used for automation?

Never mind. I am sorry. I have derailed this thread away from the OP. My apologies

ALL keyboard and mouse software is capable of automation if used improperly. Doesn’t matter if it’s Logitech, or Asus, or any other brand. Logitech Ghub is very easily capable of automation if you use it that way. Every single one allows you to create macros with repeat keystrokes and delays.

Thank you. I going to let this go now. Appreciate your explanation.

I’ve derailed this enough while trying to help. My bad

I do have Logitech GHub for my Webcam

Asus aura software is not the problem, I’ve used it for several years with out problems. Any macros made with other software I’m not so sure.

Yes and a lot of people have that software and use it to remap keys and such. Just never use it for macros’s. Sure these will not flag unless they see you doing things that are just usual. Kind of things you can not get macros in wow to do.

Am going again through all my installed Programs and Just noticed that Microsoft Power Automate was installed. I dont use that and just uninstalled that, but could that have triggered it?

We don’t know, and Blizzard won’t confirm for any given program.

After a quick google, I would say there is definitely a good chance. Obviously no one can confirm but the whole point of the program seems to be workflow automation so yeah I’d say there’s a good chance
