Normal looking girls apparently can’t get representation anymore.

There’s the problem… who wants to be “represented” in a fantasy game? You want to be something you wish you could be - a powerful mage, a brutal warrior, what have you. I don’t want “me” in the game, I want something “not me”.

I already get to play “me” in the real world. And while the real world offers superior resolution and incredibly low latency, there is a good reason why we play games to take our minds off that real world.

Yeah, that’s just easy to agree with. Personally, to me that’s just Blizz’s cinematic team not translating in game characters to CGI too well, Sylvanas in the Legion cinematic struck a similar feeling with me.

If the only reason people like Sylvanas is because of how hot they think she is, I think that’d serve as more of an indictment that they completely failed at writing the character considering the amount of time she has been around.

You have no idea how important character design is in a video game. A character even written well can become forgettable if they do not have an appealing design.

I understand perfectly well how important character design is, I just get that there are way more facets to design than looking like a swimsuit model.

I’m black, I think her CGI model is ugly and absolutely a diversity checkmark, and I think her armor is great and her in-game character looks fine.

I prefaced it with “I’m black” because there stil exists a contingent of us who don’t particularly enjoy seeing a bunch of rainbow haired white millennials shoving their caricatures of us into every product they create, and I’m bored at work so I figured I would stir the pot.

that’s unrealistic, especially in a fantasy setting where things like expensive makeup collections, cosmetic surgery etc don’t exist.
