Are people actually xfering to horde in the masses? Or is this all click bait? if so I hope blizzard balances racials, and does not repeat the same mistake in retail where everyone jumps to horde side. Atleast makes racials traits for any race to pick and choose what racials they want.

Historically, horde has been more hardcore, thus making some top alliance swap over to simply have more options/people to play with on a higher level.
At the moment, in Classic, I don’t think people are transferring, simply because some servers are locked for Transfers afaik. No point in faction changing on Pagle from A to H when there is no horde.
Short answer - Today - No.
Long answer - if servers open up, yes, I bet people will start xferring.
Servers matter a lot more in Classic than they do on Retail. This is an advantage retail has over Classic → you can be on practically any server for PvP and M+ and still be able to do top tier of content - aka super high keys and really high level of PvP.
Mega servers ruined “server identity”. It used to exist back in 2008, when servers were 2-3k pop, but not today when some servers hold up to 30,000 players online. You may know 10, 20, 30, heck 100 people, sure. But no one is actually familiar with all 20,000+ players and their alts. I can be set on /ignore by 2,000 people on Pagle and i won’t even notice.

hmm yeah good answer. I don’t understand why its so hard to just balance racials? can we not give an alliance race beserker style racial?

We have no idea data wise, but I can tell you from my own battleground spamming playstyle that the number of horde vs horde BGs has went up noticeably lol.
I’m not sure, but I know a few people who transferred to Alliance recently. 
Is it such a hard fix to give alliance and horde the same racials with diff names or animations. For bersker racial you could give it to the night elves and just give it a new name. Or tauren stomp could be given to dreanei aswell

If your server currently leans one way over the other, faction changes are going to increase the larger faction and diminish the smaller one. Doesn’t matter if horde or alliance, all that matters is if one faction already dominates a server.
yeah that is true. I am on bene, I don’t see it becoming horde dominated ever. But it could become less active if more people go to servers horde dominated because of OP racials for PVE.
This is really dumb for a fantasy rpg game.
This has never been a game where balance is the most important factor.
I think the vast majority of the damage to faction balance is over at this point and the most faction change will do is a medium sized push from FOMO players and a few trickling around to play with friends. A major exodus I don’t think will happen, since it looks like it already did when people started classic and with server transfers.
well hope your right. Still don’t know why racial balance never gets done though. Just add the same racials for each race with diff style . Not hard. Just blizz ego at this point
Outside of blizzard auto assigning a faction or placing vague locks on servers the balance of factions falls onto the player base to choose. Blizz messed up here by not taking the temptation of racials out of the mix incentivizing players who cared to pick the more powerful options.
Essentially they left the choice to the player base and the player base chose the more dominant side based on the racials they had.
its not jsut about racials unless you are trying to min max racials are w/e. for the casual player its more about the feel of the faction and most people just simply like the horde more than alliance. look at retail, the hardcore players are actually playing as alliance because the racials are better but the mass of the player base is chilling on horde.

every hardcore guild is horde on retail. Only one being alliance on Frostmourne. Hardcore players are not on allaince lol. You can literally look at warcraft logs
It’s sort of click bait. It happened in retail and people predict it’ll happen in classic too (but at a quicker pace).
Essentially the argument is that what high end players do eventually trickles down to casual players because we tend to emulate what streamers, guides, top end players do.
Yeah kind of insane how blizzard never fixed any racials even now with a second release , with having the mistakes of retail to go off of. Super silly tbh
They lacked design direction early and tried to keep the racials as they were for too long.
Some designers thought WoW would be more pvp focused some thought about throughout in pve. They may have under/overestimated the usefulness of some racials too.

Every race should have a useful pve racial, pve stat, pvp racial, professional racial that fits with their races lore.
We shouldn’t have fluff racials unless we had a 5th they was just fluff. Wisp form, troll regen, better underwater breath holding should not be a racials.
