Faction Imbalance Due to Paladins

Paladins are better than Shaman in just about every way, but especially for healing in raiding AND PvP. This will cause a natural imbalance favoring Alliance for just about every server. Paladins have Blessing of Salvation, which reduces threat caused by 30% (which trivializes content), Kings, Protection, wear Plate, Divine Shield, Divine Intervention, Lay on Hands, the list goes on. They can heal toe-to-toe with Priests. Typically during retail Vanilla, PvE servers were mostly Alliance and PvP were mostly Horde. This will not be the case for Classic.

This imbalance was not originally in the game because it was still new and not well known. +5 Swords (and Maces) to Humans is extremely powerful since most of the best weapons (and specs for warriors/rogues) are Swords. Warriors don’t go Mace Spec for raiding. In combination with Blessing of Salvation, this gives them a huge edge for dealing more damage faster than Horde. Yes, I know Shaman give Windfury and other useful totems, but they are limited to affecting whoever is in their 5-man group. Totems have range limitations. Shaman can heal multiple targets better with Chain Heal, but that’s about it. For PvP it is uncontested that they are extremely strong Healers, being able to stand up to Rogues and Warriors (which annihilate other Healers) with Plate and Shields, then have Divine Shield as a get-out-of-jail free card for anything for 10 seconds.

World Firsters and Min-Maxers are going to roll Alliance for Paladins, regardless if PvE or PvP is their end-goal. Horde Racials may be better overall, but they can’t compete with the behemoth of a class that is the Paladin. I don’t expect them to change anything about this, just letting everyone know the future that lies ahead.

I always thought Shaman’s were pretty good but I also mostly focus on PvP and horde has better PvP racials.

If you want to bring up how OP shamans are in PVP, at least mention Elemental’s ridiculous burst instead of talking about a useless RNG-reliant spec.

Good luck doing that when you can’t force procs by sitting in Classic.

Someone is looking at the pre-nerf version of that. Old Youtube videos are not the Burning Crusade Pre-patch, mate.

As for Boomsky, RNG is just a thing that’s a thing that you deal with. Makes for great Youtube montages when it actually procs, but if you have a full video, it’s like 5 minutes of a guy just noodle-whacking folks. :V

I stopped responding because I don’t argue with people that keep using fallacies and dodging the issue at hand (like you’re doing right now :wink:).

My point exactly, Elemental’s burst is a lot consistent and just as ridiculous.

Well, here’s hoping Classic WoW Blizzard Dev Team, when doing class fixes, doesn’t do what they keep doing every expac.

“Warriors are overpowered? Better nerf Shamans.”

“THAT MAGE IS DOING 500k DPS?! Let’s nerf the hell out of those Shamans.”

if it’s WSG or AB though, I force them to engage me as I am right in the middle of the fight with my allies and throwing out cleanses as much as I can as I conserve mana by using rank 1 Seal of Command for 38 mana

You still won’t be able to force crits from /sitting in Classic.

Paladin is obviously the worst class in Classic.
Why you ask well because it’s alliance only and alliance is a massive pile of excrement that’s why.

In a serious note though who gives a damn it’s a role playing game it’s not even supposed to be balanced if it was I think it would actually be way worse.

Role playing is an even better excuse for Paladins being better. Would you rather be a Warrior of the Light, bringer of Justice thriving in well-built kingdoms or cities? Or eat grass next to literal mud huts?

Orcs can be shamans, but not paladins.

Therefore, shamans are better.

You’re thinking of The Burning Crusade when Shaman are actually useful. Horde is 100% the best faction in TBC, why? They get Paladins.

Nope. That’s because horde racials are much stronger than alliance ones, and that the horde paladins are stronger than the alliance ones as well.
