Make no sense, why would they randomly be faction based now & not during idk, BfA (the 4th war)?
The game is more faction entwined than ever now, even in TWW lore it makes no sense do do that.

PS: The fact that it’s still called a ‘Fel Bat’ is also driving me crazy change it to Doom Bat or something. Unless in combination of what Ion said… it’s a hint for what’s to come; BGB glad mounts…. 
let me guess, the horde one looks like a baby bat, and the alliance one is a giant monstrous bat
They’re barely even “themed” too. Horde bat is reddish brown with silver armor. Ally one is dark blue with gold armor. No decals or logos or different armaments. Just colors.
Silver lining, next gladiator mount might be something we haven’t seen yet so they had to have place holder this season.
Just don’t do faction based again.

Ya. I feel bad for the artist, but I think the feedback was pretty overwhelmingly and universally negative. I’m hoping they just threw the other model into s1 and are scrapping it for a new one s2.
I’m hoping for a deepflayerboi or skyrazor or something thematically new with whatever the s2 arc is

If they are out of ideas it might be the play. Using unused glad mount models or smthing or just every season is a random previous one touched up and rearmored/colored.

Imagine if they took say frostwyrm or stonedrake. Redo the whole model but keep it close to original concept and make it modern and beautiful. You could do that with so much past stuff and it would be a massive success.
Those 2 jump out at me because I feel like it was OK for its time but the model even polished a bit wouldn’t look as good as just starting over and trying to keep it close to its design but improve greatly on it.
Netherwing on other hand aged very well and still looks very good model wise, it wasnt shipped questionable. A simple brushup would suffice.
Frostwyrm/stonedrake species feel very lackluster model wise. Like the idea was there but the final product was lacking.
This is a great change. I have made an alliance toon just for this. For the alliance! For the horde!
Stone Drakes with updated rigs/models would go extremely hard.
