Just an idea, but what if one way faction changes were allowed from the dominant faction on a server?
I rolled Horde, but I wouldn’t mind changing to Alliance to try to even things out at bit…
Completely voluntary, probably wouldn’t do much to fix the problem, but it might give some people a little change and help the imbalance on some servers a little…
Anyway, of course #nochanges will want no changes, it’s just a thought…
I’m 100% for this and would definitely do it if it were an option. Though only if alliance couldn’t make things worse by fleeing to horde on horde dominated servers.
I’m alliance on deviate delight, and am open to tranferring horde IF blizzard chose to do that. Don’t think they would, but if they did, I’d help the horde out!
Yeah, same here, but I’d like to better understand if there is indeed an issue, due to faction balance.
At this point, I’d be somewhat surprised if it isn’t more of an issue around some people being very vocal that they don’t like being on PVP servers, and they should have instead rolled on PVE servers.
That would be fair, and as for Shaman / Paladins, I suppose the only thing to do would be to offer them a class/race of their choice at an equivalent level, and with some sort of ‘equivalent’ gear.
And give dominant faction people a bunch of gold to move.
My point to your post on another thread is actually that the issue, even without ‘hard evidence’ is very real, even without the need for hard evidence.
You are free to collect the numbers on posters to see how many are Alliance / Horde players complaining about being unable to play due to non stop dying.
I do fail to see how it is you’re not seeing that a vast majority of them are coming from Alliance players?
And each ‘whiny’ post here represents a segment of the entire player base unhappy about each particular ‘whine’ issue. When there are so many with the exact same whine, rest assured it is no longer just ‘some people being very vocal’.
And, to that point, I’m not even asking for ‘hard evidence’ in terms of data that we cannot possibly collect.
I spent a few hours today trying to better understand this. I went so far as to create characters on some of the more extremely imbalanced servers, and walk to areas (my first time gaining levels solely from exploration, btw) die a lot, and make my way to ports, and places where I could observe PVP happening.
I also chatted with a few people engaged in the PVP, and tried to get a sense of what the general feeling was on the servers.
Stalagg, which is one of the apparently worst balanced server now, has a somewhat hopeful feel, from what I gathered.
I do see this, actually. Unfortunately, the more I look into it, the more I feel that it really is just people who made a mistake and selected PVP when what they really wanted was PVE.
I guess it is possible to arrive at opposite conclusions using the same observations!
I would like to help the faction Balance issue and i will switch to alliance on my server… id rather be getting camped by way too many horde then running around looking for pvp and just seeing only horde camping flight paths, my server is turning into a pve server fast… ill pay to transfer to another server or ill faction change to help balance

I really do think faction change, if implementable and properly conducted will solve a lot of imbalance problems.

most won’t take it. just like most didn’t take the server transfers.
It’s one thing to transfer from a healthy strong population server to a dead one…
Its another staying on same server just switching faction to improve everyone on said servers experience
I play on Kurrinaxx and i can almost guarentee alot of horde players would be willing to switch over faction just to have a better pvp experience…
For all the people complaining about being camped constantly and “cant play the game” its not any fun for me either being on the side that is 70-30% out numbering the alliance in every zone…
Atleast if i was able to switch to alliance, i would have Motivation to get away from being camped and have plenty of targets to pick off… being on the 70% i cant even find people to kill…
Just the other day i went to stormwind to gank people, just to see it was a ghost town… i took the tram to iron forge, what did i find? About 40-50 alliance making a train on their mounts in commons area… 
Even so, if faction imba is really a problem, this would help to alleviate it.
I do think it’s better than faction queues because that would be punishing one segment of equal paying customers.
And nowadays, movements can gain traction very quickly.
I’m sure there’s a sizable number of hard core Horde players who would relish the challenge of playing for the underdog team.
Ego thing.
And that’s on what appears to be a well-balanced server.
This is a good idea, allow the over populated sides to transfer to the alternate faction but not vise versa.

I have always been Horde, since Vanilla. But if Blizzard offered the opportunity to change all my characters on my server to Alliance, I’d be tempted to give it a whirl.

Are you basing the idea that there’s a lack of balance on the fact that Horde is dominating, or on the actual number of players?
The reason I ask, is because according to the numbers being logged for Raiding, Kurinnaxx is the most balanced Classic PVP server.
The truly awful thing about all this is, blizzard just sits there and makes their customers debate about the best course of action for them to take. It’s like the blizzard staff can’t even think for themselves anymore. In all honesty, this company has gotten extremely lazy and it’s disheartening to see. You can see this in effect too, they take forever to make a decision and only do so after its been debated to hell and they have all the materials to read through, to get other peoples ideas. Here’s a prime example of Blizzards originality and creativity. Blizzard is being sued by a wrestler for stealing his comic book character… They can’t even make their own content anymore :c (I’d post a link but I am not allowed to)
I basing it on my own 2 eyes what i have seen the last 4 days… i ride around the world on my beautiful epic mount, i fly occasionally… when i get to different spots i see same thing… multiple raids of horde camping the flight masters in Eastern plague, searing gorge, burning steppes, gadgetzan, ungoro, felwood, strathholme, Brd, MC, ony, you name it there is a raid camping it… i cant even find stragglers to kill… the only battle i saw… was south shore… where i saw like 200+ horde circled around the perimeter of south shore killing any alliance who left 5 yards away from a guard
