Interesting.
I wonder if Alliance is just raid logging, and not interested in PVPing on the PVP server that is Kurinnaxx.

Also as i stated above… after visiting these spots, i went to gank people in stormwind and ironforge who were pvp marked since im a rogue… they were both ghost towns
There’s just not enough alliance on that server to defend against the waves of horde. Which is the same reason I am unable to level past 20 now. I can’t enter a contested zone, there’s not enough horde on heartseeker to defend our zones, so alliance just stroll through ganking lowbies. Oh and the alliance have captured Org for the past 4 days… They are literally camped out in front of the bank.
But there’s enough to show equal raid numbers. That’s curious.
Well i dont know what stats you are looking at, or your source. But i will say just make a level 1 alliance character and see for yourself
This wouldnt translate well across cross-faction in vanilla.
In TBC the normalization allowed paladins/shamans to be interchangeable but now it is not feasible.
And just “giving” equivalent gear - who’s to say whats equivalent? You could have full BIS on your shaman and be given full lawbringer in exchange. Its the same item level - but is trash for actually doing anything… No.
Lets not go there.
Heartseeker is 55% alliance. 45% horde though???
Just transfer characters… shamans/pallys cant be transfered… which is not a problem anyways… there is plenty of warrior/rogue/mages/priests that can change sides
Yeah that’s what the stats say but it definitely doesn’t seem that way. There is more Alli just chillin in the barrens than there is horde leveling there lol.
Thats the alliance though - being losers camping low level zones because they’re pushed out of higher level zones by the horde in the server most likely.
Happens on my server too. Have to go clear out barrens every once in awhile… kill them 2-3 times and they scurry away. Your faction just needs an open world channel to call out people being pests/griefing.
I’m not disputing that that’s the case. I’m skeptical that faction balance is the issue though, esp. if it is the case on Kurinnaxx.
Of course, the data could also be questionable. I’m looking at https://ironforge.pro/servers/
which states that its numbers are based on players seen on Warcraft Logs. Whether it is reasonable to assume that a large enough number or raids are logging or not is debatable. If anyone has a better source, please share.
Im currently leveling in stv an alt… i havent crossed paths with a low level alliance in 3 days… its like they all packed up camp and left
I have raided with 4 guilds now and i have zero logs… Kurrinaxx is heavy retail/casuals btw
Do you have reason to believe that nobody in the raids was logging? It would literally only take 1 person per raid group…
Maybe people have no idea about loggs or care to do it?
I mean i cant express how casual of a server it is. You just have to raid a few times and when they stop before every trashpull or boss pull to explain something, you would see it all make sense
That’s possible. I’m not claiming it isn’t. Warcraftlogs has been quite popular since maybe Legion, I think, so definitely a lot of WoW players would be using it. Enough to make one think that everybody would know about it.
But, if you consider that people may be coming to WoW Classic who don’t play WoW, there may be fewer people actually logging than one might think.
It would be nice to have a reliable data set.
Yea, this is my first time playing the original version of wow, i have played nothing but Wotlk
So i had no idea about logs.
But i do know i raided with 4 guilds so far, and 2 of the guilds i had to explain a boss fight strategy to a guild leader…
So if i know nothing and am explaining a fight to a couple guild leaders shows kind of a little of what experience is like on Kurrinaxx
Maybe on WoW Classic in general? Who knows… but yeah, I can definitely appreciate the point about wondering around in an almost ghosttown, where you are able to level in STV uncontested… that can’t be a good PVP experience at all.
Have you considered rerolling Alliance or rolling an Alliance alt at all? Is that something you had been planning on doing eventually anyway, at some point?
But i will stick with a free faction change, or i just will take a break until they decide to allow paid character transfers.
This server has not been much of a challenge for me and im very competitive, but i dont wanna spend another 2 months grinding a fresh character to 60 and then raiding for gear… just to play again, i have other obligations to where i cant spend alot of time to start all over.
I took some time off work, experienced launch and all nighters, grinded my way up. But now i will wait for some sort of transfer to become available or i will just casually play here in there until my subscription is up in Feb… which wver comes first, and im fine with it.
Yeah, I suppose if you’re not really planning on playing Classic much more, then that would seem like a lot of effort. Heck, it is a lot of effort.
Wouldn’t you rather make a move now though, and enjoy playing on a faction that has a challenge, since you are still subbed for another 3 months, and apparently intend to play for those 3 months…
Apparently not competitive enough for a faction reroll challenge.
EDIT: not that I blame you. Rerolling really is a lot of effort.
