I did a faction change from horde to alliance yesterday afternoon. Did not realize it would remove the character from my warband. The initial faction change took less than 30 minutes. I did another faction change to reverse it immediately upon realizing it. It has now been around 20 hours since the reversal and my character is still alliance. I tried doing the faction change again to check and it says that it has the faction change pending - is in process. My sub is paid up into next year and both my transactions paying for the faction changes went through. So I know that’s not the issue.
While figuring out that your character will be taken out of the warband on faction change seems like something obvious, it should still be noted when doing a faction change. I didn’t realize it. I would have never done it. I wasted $60.
Please check into my pending faction change reversal. It’s taking a really long time.
So why didnt u ask for a refund on the change. Id open a problem with purchase ticket.
Not intending to derail your post. But how is a character taken out of the warband? I was under the impression that all of your characters under a license or even the battlenet account are part of the warband.
Could it of been that the information for the warband wasn’t updated (caught up) yet after the Faction change?
Excuse my ignorance on this subject. Warbands are still new to me and I am still learning about them myself.
A lot of people are referring to the 4 at the top that display together on the screen as the warband, though they’re more like favorites because, as you said, all your characters are in the warband.
If it’s an issue of which are in the 4 at the top, you can move characters in and out of that group.

Alright, I thought I might have missed something.
There is a cool down of 72hrs in retail wow for character services.
If you don’t like the new faction, you can put in for a refund request via ticket, they may grant it to you.
The character wouldn’t have been removed from your Warband though, it’s all characters on your account. It may have removed it from the top 4 favorites I guess, but you can just drag it back up.

For some reason I was unable to move my character up or down in the list. I can now. Still waiting on the faction change though. Thank you for the heads up about the cooldown and the refund, that’s good news. All I can do is try!
