Faction change Chopper retention

Good morning,

Does the chopper convert after a faction change into the other factions? I made a horde on my server for tower flipping back in TBC, leveled it to kill the people that tried to grief, and eventually shelled out the 15k for a chopper. I’d rather not spend IRL money on a conversion if I also lose the gold.
