Hey there, I’ve been considering faction changing this mage once I reach 120 with it, but it also just so happens to be my forum poster. If I faction change him would it effect my post history and trust level? Thanks!
Yes. Currently trust level is associated with the specific character name on the account. If you change the character, the new version will have a clear history.
We’re hoping to get it so that your history is account wide, but those features will likely take a bit to be developed.

Seems I’ll be sticking horde for a while then. Thanks for the quick response Vrakthris. 
If you also change realms at the same time, make a new alt on the old realm with the same name and faction.
The new alt will inherit post history and trust level of the old toon with the same name and faction…

Yep! That seems to be the way it is working. Certainly a bit strange and not really how it was intended but in order to allow posting by character instead of by BattleTag with these new forums things got a little funky.

Sounds like a bug that may get fixed sometime in the future.
Good to know… and strange. Unfortunately my horde and ally guilds are on the same realm. No big deal, i’ll just level an ally one. Always a pleasure Nok, you seem to know more than anyone (that’s not blue) I’ve ever met in this game

Unlikely, until we have something better in place. And to be clear it’s less a bug and more of “how the system had to work to do what we wanted it to”. We hope continue to make improvements to the system.

If you are staying on the same realm and dont change your name, you will keep your forum profile and stats. As long as the name-server is the same.
Bluster-Area52, this characters name-server, has been both factions and several different characters altogether, and all have kept the same stats.

In case you needed proof from my post above (this is Bluster) I created this character about 3 minutes ago. However, you can look at my post history and see posts (on this subject) from months ago, when this character was a blood elf on Horde. Since the name-server is the same, it carries over.
