F2P with Battle Pass

WoW needs more new players. I would make the game F2P with an optional Battle Pass.

WoW will have to redesign the WoW token system or phase it out.

What items would you be okay with being on a battle pass?

Housing items
Transmogs
Battle Pets
Bonus rolls for gear
War Bound Heroic gear

I like it how it is now, and I don’t think they’d have the numbers to support abandoning their monthly sub fee

We are already seeing some players coming from FFXIV with their dissatisfaction of Dawntrail. Furthermore we will probably get alot when housing releases since the housing system is better than FFXIV’s in every single way from what we already can see (aside from maybe the art style both have their pro’s and cons).

Making WoW F2P is a bad idea as it will impact all versions of the game. Bots will be even more rampant especially on Classic era servers. We have alot of subscribers and the trend has been increasing since Shadowlands so F2P shouldn’t even be considered.

Best way would probably have a deal like a 1 month free promo with Xbox gamepass.

id say trial accounts are just a humble from blizzard
Downside of it being free to play is…

  • More Bots
  • Bad economy, ruin the auction house, baiting auction house items, more undercuts
  • Trolls,Toxicity, they will whisper you with 30 different account slurs if you offend them, if they get banned just make new one and whisper you again
  • Which also means, they will report you from all those accounts, perhaps free ban
  • Flooding your mailbox with banana (dont tell me how i know)
  • No wow token, means blizzard make no money which means blizzard is going down
  • Trade chat Gone even more wild
  • Where you going? you lost? 0 earnings? no paycheck? this game is so free? free than public restroom?
    If you want the game you should buy it and support it with sub, pay up or shut up cuh

The game can always use a steady stream of new players. Admittedly, they’ve gotten a little better at attempting that through the years, but the new player experience can still be incredibly overwhelming.

i did answer it. you said how could we get more players, i said i dont want to. just because an answer doesn’t align with your npc level thought processes doesnt render it invalid.

I’m already not a fan of all the extra monetization. I don’t need it increased ten fold.
