Extreme Tank shortage

I agree but they are always super stingy with incentives

They do already, problem is DPS donā€™t want to deal in.

People wonder why there is a tank shortage, so we tell them, we point out their issues, we explain why we cannot be bothered tanking for people who do nothing but go on auto follow and refuse to pop defenses or use interrupts, but what happens?

We get criticised for it and like in my case, have our posts flagged for pointing out that people canā€™t play and is part of the problem why we never tank for PUGs. Why would be want to tank for randos who pull tank levels of DPS, never interrupt, never use defenses, run around clueless pulling more mobs than intended and forcing it on us to pick up the slack.

Why bother when we can simply go premade and enjoy our time in dungeons.

I think a significant part of the problem is the nerf that tanks received. As a healer, I see that tanks are very fragile at m+, I can barely do DPS, I have to be heavily healing the tank almost all the time. I think some people are scared of being a tank xD.

Thank goodness for Delves, Iā€™ll never need a tank.

As a healer why are you even trying to do DPS? First and foremost you need to heal the group and keep them alive, if, and only if you have downtime then you can think about throwing some DPS spells.

You are part of the problem, healers pretending to be DPS. Iā€™ve seen posts where people want to be a DPS, but in heals spec, or like the other guy just recently, a DPS but in tank spec, you guys are part of the problem.

When you pretend DPS in healer spec you are forcing the tank to make decisions about how we tank, what routes we take, how many mobs we can pull, when to use defenses, how to position mobs and bosses differently because the healer is trying to be a pretend DPS, it doesnā€™t help.

If you choose to go in as a heal spec, be a healer.

The solution: roll one yourself. Youā€™re a Druid, it has the easiest tank spec in the game.

They do but they donā€™t.

Forced cooperation would be similar to patty cake in mists. Only the tank can see it so itā€™s 100% their responsibility.

Thereā€™s too much ā€œanyone can get itā€ stuff which makes zero-effort dps/heal/tank (Outside of actually doing their job) to KSM/KSH a thing. They just throw raw time at M+ until a VDH and/or Mistweaver carry and it 100% works.

Zero reason to get better when raw time is good enough.

We are in a weird and unique spot. M+ can be REALLY bad right now due to people having similar ilvls due to delvs. It will be better in a couple weeks when IO scores start to separate, but for now its really bad. People doing zero interrupts or CC. People doing very, very low dmg for their ilvl.

Tanks do not want to deal with this and wait for guildies or friends.

I wish that a lot of these DPS would learn a tank spec. Itā€™s so easy.

**Iā€™m not sure where all these complaints of toxicity are about. Iā€™ve pugged M+ since itā€™s conception and I can count on one hand how many times people were toxic. Iā€™m starting to think people are crying wolf or are doing something very bad to cause this reaction.

Is that an oxymoron? Or fantasy island? Lol. Ideally this is the solution, but the giant roadblock is reality.

This is what happens when you just do raid finder and dont actually interact with people

If I just focus on healing people complain too lol

Yesterday in a Stonevault run, I was waiting (4s) for a 3x stack of Smashed to wear off before pulling more rock smashers, but the trigger happy mage decided to pull for me, so I ended up with 5x stacks of it instead. Nobody died, but I had to blow defensives one pull away from Eirich, because dude couldnā€™t wait a few seconds.

Things like this make me decide to take a break from pugging keys.

well well well, the consequences of my actions are finally rearing its ugly head

Tanks take the full brunt of peopleā€™s ire when something goes wrong, and over the years the pug tank pool has shrank so much yaā€™ll now complaining. Now hereā€™s the gambit, roll a tank now and see what vitroil is aimed at you and you might see why there isnā€™t many of them left.

Now that delves are in the game, i wonā€™t be taking my tank alts in m+, i can get gear that is suitable for what i do, and can you leave the rabid wolves to fend for themselves now.

Well itā€™s definitely not an oxymoron so there that.

It all starts with one person at a time. Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth spreading?

Many say that the healer should contribute DPS at an M+, but the most I can do is negligible DPS. For example: in the last m+ I did, the top dps did 1.41B, the second 1.29B and the third 980M. What I managed to do was only 163M.

2 cents of a casual player, everybody is leveling their mains in TWW and the majority of mains arenā€™t tank class.

This is why my tanks are not endgame level yet, with the exception of my druid.

In a couple more weeks you will have more tanks.

I donā€™t have this issue. I join groups that have a tank.

New and existing players are still being pressured by negative toxicity which is only going to discourage more tank players to stop tanking PUGs.
