Extra Empowerment Level Trap Talent For Devastation

Rank 3 and rank 4 do the same amount of damage, in fact with my spellpower, firebreath does 100 less damage at rank 4 overall than rank 3. On top of that, if you’re using the talent to make disintegrate causes more firebreath ticks, having the duration of the fire breath dot reduced from 12 seconds to 6 seconds doesn’t help that much either. Even with an astounding amount of haste you wouldn’t have firebreath up again before the dot fell off to make it have an issue.

If you’re going into a full other rank of fire breath, it should feel worth it to use it. I dropped the talent and I’m seeing better numbers single target with firebreath lasting longer and doing more damage overall. I’m going to check on preservation as well because devastation is just something I use for questing but it’s weird tuning for it.

Fire breath does the same amount of damage no matter the rank. it’s just that each rank after the first frontloads that damage for burst, which is useful in pvp.

Firebreath does the same dmg at all empowerment just it is adjusted in how it is dispersed per empowerment. The longer you hold the more instant the dmg is. The less you hold it the longer the Dot of the dmg is.

There is an argument with using empowerment one fire breath and then utilizing Catalyze talent ( WHICH INCREASES THE PERIODIC TICKS BY 100% WHEN CHANNEL DISENTERGRATE ON FIRE BREATH TARGET AFFECTED BY THE DOT).

Combine with Shattering Star and Dragon rage you’re going to truck the target and get random procs of crits and a double-tick dot.

In AoE situations take Everburning flame and use empowered lvl 1 empowerment and spamming pyre with Dense Energy Talent and Volatility. Can lead to a mega-long fire DoT with huge AoE.

Making the instant fire breath only feel worthwhile in PvP or fast-paced fight where mobs are less tanky.

To be honest I like it. But! I DO NOT LIKE THAT IT IS DISPELLABLE. I ALSO DON’T LIKE THAT ETERNITY SURGE FEELS LAME!
