It’s how the world works including this COMPANY providing a service to their paying customers who agreed to the Terms of Service and User Agreements when Blizzard needs to conduct maintenance, however long it may be. Welcome to the real world.
Go on WoWhead and you will see there’s been articles that covered Raid, Mythic+ and Classes/Specs changes that are getting implemented for this maintenance. Let me guess, you didn’t know? You just think they’re extending it just bc they want to? Never mind. Carry on.

It would be far better for them to stop being autistic and actually be competent at their jobs. I’m a developer and when I tell people that it’s going to take an hour to deploy then it takes an hour. I don’t lie to the customer and then hire some loser to spin some PR on the forums.
So. How much are Blizzard paying you to try and misdirect?

It’s annoying, comical, and disappointing all at the same time. I wish someone could ask them in an interview about this just to see how they brush it off. Feels a bit like an abuse of power

You do realize that they knew about these changes before the maintenance, and can schedule an appropriate downtime beforehand instead of constantly bumping it up?

Here is a positive thought:
Blizz: Ok, updates are live, lets play for an hour to see how it works before we unleash to the public…OH NOES that looked so good on paper but in play UGH no no, lets redo and try again.

Incompetent? Yet you’re here on their platform and still playing their incompetent game. Nice logic. 
Maybe a blue post will happen one day where they say… “We’re sorry for all the extended maintenances this expansion…” and then maybe go into some reasons why. It would make me feel a little better at least.
