The Suramar section of this book is pitifully short. I get that the angle of this book is that it’s a joint honeymoon voyage between Thalyssra and Lor’themar, but come on…
- No mention of the current status of the Fal’dorei.
- No mention of the druidic Val’sharah refugees that set up a home in the wilds of Suramar.
- No mention as to whether or not the graveyard of Tel’anor was reclaimed.
- Not a single mention of what Oculeth and Valtrois are up to.
- Thalyssra is oddly enchanted by the sight of a hippogryph in Val’sharah acting as if she’s never seen one before, when Suramar has their own hippogryphs:

I really had hoped Suramar joining the Horde would spice up our elven cast yet they never show up when it would make sense. I hope and pray so hard they will not ignore blood elves the same way when Midnight comes around.
They as in the Nightborne, or the general elven cast of the Horde…?
The Nightborne are one of the few allied races that have had decent representation in relevant story moments. When has the elven cast of the Horde not shown up when it would have made sense for them to?
Isn’t that the Highborne Hippogryph that the Shendralar Night Elves ride on? I remember Mordent Evenshade riding on that mount. There’s so much wrong with this book if what you say is there most recent update to the Broken Isles. Did whoever write the book bother to read the lore?
That version of the hippogryph has been used extensively: Mordent Evershade’s mount, Lothrius Mooncaller’s mount, as the mount of choice for the remaining members of the Moonguard, and summoned by Flightmaster Volnath in the Nighthold raid encounter.
Lothrius Mooncaller has a named hippogryph, Dusktalon, that uses this model that Thalyssra would have seen as it was present at the gates of Suramar when the insurrection began.
It’s an easily missable detail, but Elisande even has a hippogryph pet named Lalathin in her personal quarters that has been infused with fel.
