Hi guys, long time Customer Service lurker and I guess karma finally caught up to me. I’d always see topics about bans and think to myself “that person knows why they got actioned, they’re just playing dumb.” Well I guess it’s my turn to play dumb. Just got a kicked out of game with a 7 day suspension. Email states exploitive gains of items or currency and yeah I have no idea why. I play really casual, so my gears not that great. Only thing I can think of is I’ve been using a lot of my Azureweave Bolt cooldowns and buying awakened items off AH. Been doing like 15 every two days, but I went straight to the tailoring spec for reduced cooldown. Anyway like I said, I’ve lurked long enough to know they won’t tell me what I did, but just wondering if anyone has heard of any unintended exploits from tailoring cooldowns? Or digging up dirt piles? Really the only two things I’ve done with much consistency this expansion.
Again I’m not trying to appeal here on the forums, I’ve already submitted a ticket for that, just wondering if there’s anything anyone else has experienced or heard of occurring recently.
Guess I can be thankful it’s only 7 days, but as these things always happen, just got a week off from work for being sick and was looking forward to riding out the time playing.

Blizzard nerfed dirt pile farming but I won’t know if it was a respawn rate issue or due to an exploit.

Another thing you might have seen is that rarely is the sanction from something recent. Investigations do take time, even weeks or longer depending on how prevalent something is, just because they want to understand how the exploit works and how to put a stopper in it before they start combing their records for accounts that might have been taking advantage of it.
Please do appeal the sanction though. Blizzard admits openly that they’re not perfect and mistakes can happen. The worst thing that can come of it is that the sanction is upheld. Even if you don’t get a response until after the suspension has run it’s course, an overturn will wipe the black mark from your account. And too, if you were wrongfully sanctioned, you can absolutely ask for the time lost to be reimbursed to you. It doesn’t solve the issue that you’re unable to play right now like you wanted to, but it’s something to keep in mind should your appeal go in your favor. Also, do not forget you can appeal and keep appealing until you’re warned that no more appeals will be accepted.
I do wish you luck.

Same issue, just got a 14 day ban, thought the chrono cloth was just happening more often at first because I specced into the extremely vague talent. Stopped once I was told it was an exploit and was still banned. I don’t understand what you were supposed to do when the cooldown was just never showing. Never been banned before this and immediately get put on a 14 day right as the new content opens up.

This never means anything at all when it comes to sanctions. Suspensions can come at literally any given moment - though I have seen more and more of the larger ban waves roll through right before a big patch or expansion drop. It really drives home the punishment of missing out on things as a deterrent of bad behavior.
Perhaps if it is a large wave and you guys are just the first to come in here inquiring about it, more information will come available as to the cause of the suspensions.
Again, please do appeal the sanction, as I told OP. At worst the suspension is upheld, you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

Yeah I was just coming here to update. Reddit wow gave me the likely answer as there was some unintended issues with tailoring cooldowns. Figuring I specced into reduced cooldowns, I wasn’t even aware it wasn’t working as intended. The knowledge talent just says reduces your cooldown period, so who was to know what the correct intended period was? Oh well, really disappointing they decided to punish even though there was no in-game information on what was intended.
Same here. 14 day suspension. The tooltip is vague… still don’t know what it should be. I would say every tailor who can make Chronocloth will be suspended because as soon as you spec in to it you have 20 available to make and just think that was intended. Can;t imagine a single tailor who put all the knowledge in to Chrono or Azure would not have used their cooldowns up.

Blizzard guys, You have to revert any suspension action on these accounts. Tailoring chrono/ azure bolts cooldown were unclear and after I have realised that there is an issue I immediately reported it through the ticket as well as stating that I unintentionally did it without realising that I was doing something wrong.
How are you suppose to know how many charges you suppose to gain every period of time? I came back to WoW after a long break being exited about new professions and thinking that I always wanted to get a “LongBoy” and there was an opportunity to earn some good gold at the start of the expansion. I watched a couple of guides on YouTube on how to spec, I didn’t even read all the cooldown stuff in the tailoring talent tree. I was just making what was making gold, that’s all I was focused on, man, what a shame, got 30 days suspension…
Tonight I was in the middle of the raid, people relied on me to be there and then I got my suspension wasting everybody’s time.
Game development team should take responsibility for not fixing the bug for whole 2 weeks not the players. The whole cooldown thing was so unclear! Have you even seen it? blizzard?

Everything mentioned in this thread is currently pure speculation-- there is no guarantee that’s what the suspension was for. There is a larger chance of that not being what it was for due to the nature of suspensions being handed down weeks or even months after the exploitative activity was discovered.
If you believe your suspension was in error, you should have received an email with the instructions to appeal it and have already put a ticket in. If not:

Sorry but this is exactly what it was for. I have not played this game for years before the last 2 weeks. Hundreds of people are making posts about this on various sites and one thing is consistent among all of them, and that is the azureweave/chronoweave cd. Unfortunately you are right it is just speculation because the reason for ban is extremely vague instead of actually telling you what you did wrong.
That is because they don’t want the people who exploit things on a daily basis to know what set off the warden not to mention all the rules lawyering that would ensue afterward.

Not by posting here they won’t. If you want to make a suggestion take it to General, the Blues that post here are Not GM’s nor are they liaisons to the Dev’s.

Just recieved a 14 day ban myself due to the azureweave bug. Had no idea it was a thing, thought I was just really good at timing my 24hr cooldown but, guess I was mistaken. Hopefully they fix our stuff.
And this is why were not allowed to hypothezise about account action.

Thanks Nok, Reddit is already filled up with memes about it too.

Also hit with ban. Put all my points into azureweave to craft and reduce crafting time. I made them because it said they were available to make.
Then attempt an appeal. No guarantee, but they might have some internal policy that differentiates someone going slightly over the limit vs. massive cheating.

Something also to keep in the back of the mind - though I want to emphasize that there is absolutely no guarantee this will be the case - but they have reversed their rulings sometimes when a sweeping wave goes through. Like the big PvP non-participation one that went out around the time of WotLK Classic’s release - they found an error and went back to adjust folks who shouldn’t have been suspended or lightened suspensions. Again - this is pure conjecture on my part. But it may be that they find that line between an oops, I did this once or twice without thinking it an exploit to those who went ham and just blew the exploit out of the water. We will just have to wait and see.
