This is the same change Blizzard made last November. They backtracked within hours after serious backlash.
It’s pathetic they would go through with it again without notice.

I want to know HOW someone can tell, or what the measure of someone is who they may think is a twink 110. What about people who are serious about leveling alts, yes they may have toons that can make them some nice gear, but a couple nice pieces of gear does not a twink make.
I think this system will punish players who are just trying to get alts up to max level, and are playing for the fun of playing and leveling, and I can see A LOT of abuse of this! It is going to make people NOT want to group up with pugs. See how groups like this when they can’t fill their spots because people are afraid that they will not be getting exp if they queue up.
are you seriously that blind? read the debuff description.
“Someone in your party has chosen to no longer gain experience.”
Way to just be snide and insulting. I guess you’re the one who also didn’t read, because the article says “group.”
Try learning to explain things without the attitude next time.
All they said was “Bad idea to just make it so you can’t xpoff at 110+ back to the drawing boards” and everyone thought it was over. It wasn’t.
To clarify (because I jumped the gun too) - it does not work with a group. It is shown as working for a “party” - that is, a number of people who get together prior to joining an instance. Non-party members will (presumably) be unaffected.
Wowhead =/= Blizzard. but then again Wowhead obviously knows it’s about those in the same party as you, because they also stated: “players with XP on invite others with XP off” aka, invited to same party in otherwords. no where in the wowhead article does it state people in same instance who weren’t invited to same group. So clearly people are misinterpreting the wowhead article and trying to read between the lines.
Also if you want proof of this, instead of making baseless accusations and making yourself look foolish over the misintrepretation of a debuff… you are well aware that 8.2 is live on the PTR right? just go turn off your XP and queue up to a random IE or Dungeon… notice immediately how no one in the same IE or Dungeon as you gets that debuff. Then invite a friend without xp disabled to your party, then queue up, and notice that only your friend gets the debuff.
`>.> facepalms seriously…
Twinks knew it wasn’t over. At least players are aware of this change, no thanks to Blizzard.
The only thing similar to the claim it is party and not instance is someone in the xpoff forum saying "One would think it’s limited to party members, not instance members. But ya never know " If anyone would like to go on the ptr and test I’m up for it.
But…the icon for the effect clearly says “party”…?
Ravens seems pretty darn sure of it and goes out of their way to insult us over it.
But I agree, before we flip out, a test is needed to know for sure how it works, not just words.
Need like 3 more people and we all que for the same dungeon if anyone wants to try.
8.2 is live on the PTR >.> anyone can see how it works first hand. I am not just darn sure of it, I am 100% sure of it. Also i am a 115 player with Legion legendaries, so I know about these relevant to me things >.>
I would, but I’m on my way into work. I’m sorry.
Remove the npc that stop experience.
Those twinks are causing more troubles than solutions.
Its time to eliminate them
That doesn’t excuse your attitude, so I could care less what you have to say. I’ll rely on those who don’t insult people when trying to give information, thanks.
Call in sick. This is important.
I will write you a note.
Dear Rhielle Work Boss.
The General Discussion forums of World of Warcraft needs the person in question for some extremely important testing.
Sincerely,
Akston. I am a shaman.
Print this out. Take it in tomorrow.
That would remove some achievements. People don’t halt XP just to be twinks.
I honestly think Blizz is trying to drive people off WoW and just shut it down or put it on permanent maintenance so they can divert resources to other stuff. It’s like they have a seething animosity toward their customers. I will never understand it.
Okayyy dude. Sorry people are having fun in bfa
