EXP Missions Gone

Not sure if there is more information on this being intended, a bug, etc., but I haven’t seen an EXP mission on my adventure table for well over a week now. Were all EXP missions just cut, or is there some weird renown/campaign breakpoint where they stop appearing? I can’t imagine why they would just stop, as I don’t have a single companion at max level yet, and with more companions constantly being added at level one this makes it more painful than it already was to get new ones.

Edit: So apparently the answer is that if you go too far in the campaign missions (on the table itself), EXP missions just poof, in spite of actual companion levels, or the constant addition of new companions. And the only solution to this is to intentionally suicide high level elite missions that take roughly 3x as long for possibly similar amounts of EXP (I haven’t done this myself, so I can’t confirm actual EXP rates).

Players get punished for “progressing too far” without knowing this would happen. What a dumpster fire this feature has been.

Once you progress the table campaign far enough, XP missions disappear.

Well, that sucks.

They disappear, but sending companions on a level 51 gold Elite mission will give them about the same amount of experience, even if they fail. You are supposed to send your adventurers on suicide missions, just like the Garrison followers.

its a definite oversight because I can’t progress in my Main Character’s mission table due to having so many Adventure Companions at such low level that the troop’s level is so low that they can’t help, meanwhile the companions are reaching that point where things are too difficult to take on.

Seriously? This is mind bogglingly stupid design.

I don’t recall ever having to do this with Garrison followers, but it’s awful design either way.

I did this a lot when I leveled mine. It’s just awkward and counterintuitive.

Edit: Also, OP, on a positive note, for some covenants, the campaign missions that reward mounts are doable with followers much lower than level 60.

and yet, they keep funneling me new companions at level 1, which suppress my troops level.

So, I have like 6 sub-20 companions and just got another level 1 companion. I have troops stuck at level 22 despite having my original companions all over 30 because of it. I cannot effectively level these low companions because the lowest adventure on my table is a 27 and most of them are 35, 37, and 40’s.

Makes total sense. Super fun.

Unfortunately, the most efficient strategy is just to send your companions on high level suicide missions, in order to agonizingly level them to 60.

I think this has a lot to do with why so many players just ignore the mission table. Dev’s could not be bothered with decent design so why bother with it?

I’ve managed to do one, but Necrolord has about 4-5 bugs with unit abilities right now, so even certain missions that would have been a breeze a few weeks ago are painful now.

I got two done. The Highwind Darkmane mission is the hardest one. I might have to get my highest level companions to the 40’s in order to do that one. The Chittering Animite one would probably be doable, though.

That’s one I was able to do, lol. Barely didn’t win the one for the hound mount. I’ve seen the other ones pop up, but they don’t look feasible until they at least fix the Plaguesinger ability to actually deal DoT damage again.

And somehow, my troops has almost no troubles with that mission, but I’m struggling with the Warstitched Darkhound mission. It’s the last one I have left, and then I’ll probably never touch this thing again.

Oh, I didn’t use Plaguesingers at all. I used the highest level followers I had, except for Gunn Gorgebane, who is really good.

I was just saying that unit has a lot of power in it’s ability when it isn’t bugged, and if I had that right now I’d be able to handle those missions. I’ve also switched to basically only using companions, and never using troops.

Ok, I wish you good luck with this awful system. I didn’t even know it was bugged. This really needs a hotfix.

Heirmir, Rencissa, and Marileth are also bugged, and/or not working as their tooltips describe.

I’m looking here confused how so many people are so high of a level already on the table, even with the Night Fae troops being as abusable as they are theres still a bunch of missions that unless i use a specific companion on them they’re impossible. Do failed missions give a ‘oh well, you tried’ bonus to exp or something?

Yes, they give more than 1,000 XP. Suicide missions are the fastest way to level companions, like I said earlier. Send all your troops on high level gold elite missions.
