Do any warriors use Executioner over Berserking now that we’re in a late phase in the game? A frequent proc of 120 ArP seems mighty good when you’re able to get ~1200 ArP passively.
I ran a sim with my own gear and it came out to be a significant DPS increase so I will be keeping this setup until I can get my hands on a Deathbringers Will, but I was wondering though what other’s thoughts were on it as I haven’t seen anyone using this enchant (nor is it mentioned on any sites).
Did some reading just now, as I was curious, and apparently no. Zerk > Exec raw output.
I’ve never seen a single warrior in PvE setting using Executioner either. BIS lists do not have it listed at all.
Exec is a TBC enchant. The only TBC chant that’s somewhat used is Mongoose by bears, as there is nothing else for survivability for them afaik.
It’s too easy in middle phase to have 1400 static Armor Pen… So you’d be spending gold on enchants twice and not gaining much in form of damage. Remember you’re sacrificing attack power for something that 1 trinket can proc and do it better…
Good warriors and other tanks use mongoose over others to boost our dmg. It’s almost on par with berserking in DMG for me in prot because I get ap, armor, crit and dodge from agility as well as hate proc off of it.
It provides me both mitigation and damage. Stop pretending that’s a bear enchant.
Too bad, since it was one of the sickest glow effects
It’s sad that so many weap enchants turned out completely useless. seems like one of the major design flaws in both tbc and wrath. spellsurge weap swapping was kind of cool so i guess that one gets a pass
My logs last night in togc were with executioner enchant on MH after getting cryptmaker. I regemmed all my gems to armor pen. Was my best togc log, even pulled aggro off the tank in worm phase.
I guess that makes sense that the newer enchant would be more efficient, but there’s not a chance it could be worth it even if a sim is showing a 40 DPS increase while using it? I was also going with the idea that when you’re close to the cap, the ArP becomes more valueable and offsets the age/itemization of the enchant (similar to how we ignore socket bonuses most of the time if the stat is really good).
I recently switched my setup and items/gemming so that I have a passive 1212 ArP (+ Executioner), instead of the 649 ArP + Mjolnir trinket proc. It simmed 1,000 DPS higher, and after I made the changes to my gear, I tested it in dungeons and my damage was massively better. I’m talking like 40-50% higher in some cases. I know this may not carry over the same way in a raid setting, but I’m excited to try it.
I admit I didn’t think of that part. But trying to pretend 6 AP is somehow an important factor for Mongoose? That’s like bragging about getting an extra 0.00000000001 miles per gallon on your car because you waxed it
When you have 26.5k armor unbuffed, it adds up and also 62.5 agility is 1 percent crit for me and I get attack speed from the proc and I get a big chunk of armor even if the AP is small
Don’t dog on his braindead class, all of pve is braindead. You aren’t playing the part of the game that requires any skill or a functioning frontal lobe. All the pve boys are in the same disabled trashcan together make friends
Warriors should be soft cap with ArP and shouldn’t be relying on executioner to reach it… Assuming you’re raiding where you’ll benefit from raid-wide buffs.
If you’re just doing dungeons, yeah… executioner is probably a good enchant.
