would tanking as an evoker with the power of the aspects satisfy the urges you’ve had to tank with the power of the elements?
Definitely agree though 2 spec classes should not be a new norm, more option are better. Harder to balance yes but that’s on ongoing thing no matter what and is what devs will always do. There will always be a FotM, there isnt always a cool new class being added to the game
I think it’s more likely we see the current classes get pruned down to 2 specs before they worry about adding a third spec. So they can use those designs for new classes in the future.
A new race and class should appeal to a much broader audience than this lame DoA Drakthyr Evoker is IMO. This should have been a go BIG or go home. Nope, they just ruined a new race for a lot of players by limiting it so drastically.
Shouldn’t I want to play a Drakthyr? I don’t! At least not as of the time I am typing this reply. I had really hoped Blizzard wouldn’t repeat the 2 spec Demon Hunter.

Evokers should at the very least get an additional tank spec, even if other classes were to open up to dracthyr. WoWing us with 4 or 5 specs on a unique and cool class would be the standard id like to see from blizzard when we get 1 new class every 6ish years. No one saw evokers/dracthyr coming yet some are arguing “just give the next tinker class a tank spec” as if they know what/when a new class is given and that its some kind of spec turn basis rather than theme/need driven- blizz designed something completely new and unique but didn’t give it the polish it justly deserves.
I think evokers are awesome, but there is so much potential they aren’t living up to
they also said WoW classic wouldn’t happen. look where we are now

A tank spec borrowing from a mish-mash of already existing dragon bosses mixed with some black aspect magic and some sort of hardened scales mechanic like deathwing’s durability passive from heroes of the storm making him sturdier . Sub-focus on fire damage, using claws, big cleaves, some sort of thorns damage, and fire breath akin to Fel Devestation. Also having an active cooldown to turn all of the evoker’s ranged spells into 5yrd pseudo-melees
Evokers should get deleted
no DPS spec, it should just be Tank and Healer. over bloated on DPS classes.
Honestly if they want more tanks they need to make it easier and provide more resources for people to learn to tank effectively. Tankspot back in the day was a great resource focused on just that.
You could have an infinite amount of creative ideas for new specs for Evokers. So it seems their philosophy was, “The specs won’t have their own identities. They’ll just be the same class identity split along two different roles.”
But, as to your point, they can certainly do that with the tank role. We can finally have our first spellcaster tank.
Next: Warlock spec that empowers and controls one demon to tank for them >:)
With raids limiting the number of tanks needed I just don’t see it happening. On top of that with Evokers being limited to Drakthyr it goes against how they differ from Drakonid’s that are melee focused and where tanking would make more sense.
Who said anything about melee? Spellcaster tank time babyyy. I mean they’ll still be in melee once they pull but still…
a tank caster? seems very unrealistic
I want a melee spec. As a dragon person I should be using my teeth and claws to fight. Bugs me that when something runs up on me I can’t go all Wolverine on it.

Lol. You can only comment this or that, as long as it meets my approval. Joker
