How does it not fit their role to be tanks while the class’s fantasy is using all the dragon aspects?
Also why can’t a caster tank be a thing? ( refer to my posts regarding mechanics and play styles that would make a caster tank work). It satisfies you want for them to be caster while giving those who want tanks what they want as well. That being said as it currently stands either way none of us are playing the imaginary 3rd spec, so how is it being added in going to negatively impact you?
In order to have that they would need to add Racial Class skins…
And currently I doubt that will be a thing in the near future.
Void Paladin is already a big contender for that too

If you want to talk evokers I’m all ears. You also assume this is the only thread in gathering info from….intellectual dishonesty lol? I will be happy to stand my ground and keep responding to you if you need someone to talk to you.
Feel free to even throw in an argument against which I may rebuttal
I mean… it does kind of matter at the same time, though. Someone might think all the current tank specs are pretty darn boring. Maybe they really like shamans or would be another class with a tank spec if blizzard wasn’t so phobic about magic tanking. Its actually getting quite ridiculous to say that a ranged class shouldnt have a tank spec when evokers need to be within a 25yrd radius. Balance druids get 10 yard range on even auto attacks. Can turn into a bear. Think if that oooone little thing slid on over to the tank spec which is soooooo close. Boom. Ranged tank.

I already gave you my perspective
I’ve made no such assumption
Indeed “lol”
Now try to imagine the possibility that I don’t need you or anyone else to talk to … that would instantly turn your dedication to “standing your ground” an act of futility.
I’m still dismissing your assertion based on Hitchen’s Razor. I may or my not decide to provide arguments counter or in support of your assertion once you have done your duty: Provide your arguments and evidence in support of your assertion in order to allow for a proper discussion regarding said assertion.
In other words: The ball is still in your court and hasn’t moved an inch since this thread started.

The reason that a ranged tank spec is pointless is because of what happens:
- Tank attacks enemy from 40 yards away.
- Enemy runs over to the tank.
You are no longer a ranged tank.

We don’t need another tank spec because they have already added a tank spec every time they brought in a new class. DK, DH, and Monk. Meanwhile they have only added 1 class that can heal, Monks, and let’s be honest they are bottom spec right now.
It’s perfectly fine that they add a DPS/Healer class in the next expansion.

If evoker tank was added wouldn’t we still be getting a dps and healer spec?
My whole point was that they don’t need to. You want them to. There’s a difference between need and want.
Explain to me why you think they need to bring in another tank spec?

We don’t need a tank spec same as we don’t need a new class or dps spec, your logic.
As I stated they should get it for several reasons you can reference in my earlier post but to name a few: tanks are the least represented role in terms of specs to role ratio, it is something a significant portion of the player base is asking for, it gives both a mail tank wearer and a lust to the role which helps group comps in m+, it breaks the cycle of adding new classes with only two specs every 4 to 6 years, it is an opportunity to add a unique tank to the game, and there is so much more.
Source? If you account for 2:8-18 raiding or 1:4 M+ is it really the least represented?
Again, source? The forums doesn’t count. It isn’t usable data. Only a very small fraction of the player base comes here.
There are enough classes with lust. Shaman, hunter, mage, invoker. We don’t need a tank class with lust.
Like I said they have already added 3 classes that can tank, but only 1 that can heal.
Edit: There’s been 312,180 tanks who have a timed M+ key in season 4 alone compared to 322,636 healers. The margin of difference is so miniscule that you can’t claim they are the least represented when raids and pvp require more healers than tanks. If anything healers are the least represented relative to the slot they take up in group content.

1 I said spec to role, open up your classes page and count out how many specs can tank. The answer is 6 which was tied with healers before envokers were added.
2 these forums are not the only place people are voicing they want evoker tanks. You can find a Reddit thread with a full excel sheet of fan designed tanking trees blizzard could use. No one said the tally but the topic is coming up over and over in various channels
3 that’s your opinion of enough lusts. Still tanks do not have it while all other roles do. This would expand viable comps for m+
In regards to past additions each fit the theme, same here
None of which suggests that a “Significant portion of the player base”.

I beg to differ since it clearly is a topic being discussed on various sites, forums, disc channels etc
Just because people are talking about it in multiple channels does not mean it is a “Significant portion of the player base”. You are reaching hard.
There are people talking about how the world is flat on multiple online channels. Does that mean a significant portion of the population believes the world is flat? Your logic.

Not really, we can talk about using sample sizes to relate to a population. The only difference is what you see as significant vs me which ultimately doesn’t matter what we see. It just has to be enough for blizzard to be convinced. People are asking for it, it’s up to them to decide when it’s enough. There are also those who don’t voice their views on the forums but do still relay them to blizzard.
And yes the amount of people arguing that the world is flat is quite significant since it definitely is not.
I asked for sources and factual numbers. You cannot present any. Reddit, Forums, and Discord is not data.
Here are the facts:
Season 4
Tanks: 312,180
Healers: 322,636
DPS: 970,651
Now account for group make up 1:1:3 and 2:8-18. You claim Tanks are the least represented, however the numbers show that they are right about 1:1:3.
Your point was just disproven.
I specifically stated spec to role ratio, ie the options any player has in selecting what spec they want to play in a given role
DK: DPS, Tank
DH: DPS, Tank
Druid: DPS, Tank, Healer
Hunter: DPS
Mage: DPS
Monk: DPS, Tank, Healer
Paladin: DPS, Tank, Healer
Priest: DPS, Healer
Rogue: DPS
Shaman: DPS, Healer
Warlock: DPS
Warrior: DPS, Tank
That gives us 6 classes that can tank and 5 classes that can heal.
You are still wrong. Tanks are not the least represented in terms of spec to role ratio either. Stop grasping at straws.

If they add tank then that’s another spec to balance. They best stick to just 2 and balance it easily
