40 isn’t even necessarily stronger than 25 or 30.
Yeah, the vocal minority is also legit in need of therapy.
It is objectively stronger, especially if it’s possible to be out of range with the current 25 or 30.
As for if it’ll come without nerfs to something, unlikely.
You say this like you aren’t green/blue (grey by ilvl lol) parsing all of heroic =D
Everyone has the same right to participate in the conversation, whether they agree with you or not.
Range doesn’t translate 1:1 to strength. 40 yards is objectively better than 30/25, but I feel like there’s a better word than stronger to emphasize this.
This is a complex conversation, but you’re not wrong. Assuming that you’re already in range either way and the target won’t move beyond, or adds won’t spawn out of range, then sure it’s not necessarily stronger.
The second anything happens to pull you out of range, though, 40yds is objectively stronger than 25 or 30. Not always the case for sure, but it’s not black and white.
skill issue
^^^The actual tl;dr of this entire thread tbh.
“Capable” maybe? If evokers got 100 yard range and no other changes, their damage/healing power wouldn’t be any higher, but of course theyd be hugely more capable of performing their role than any other class. Thatd be laughably out of whack and no one is asking for it.
By having a much shorter range, the class is less capable of doing what it needs to do. Heal/dispel? Need to be closer than any other healer. Burst/interrupt/cc something? Need to be closer than any ranged dps. Again, “mid range” does not exist. Evokers are ranged, and treated by the game’s systems the exact same as a hunter or mage.
The whole point of range being an across the board standard is so these awkward situations don’t happen. Saying that standard should stay is perfectly reasonable according to the objective reality of how WoW has been designed fot near 20 years. Why are people arguing vehementy against something that would only benefit them? There is no logic or sense in that at all.
Why are people arguing vehementy against something that would only benefit them?
Why don’t melee want 40 yards on everything? It would only benefit them.
This line of reasoning is stupid.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Including melee about a debate on range is absolutely ridiculous!
So you finally agree increased range really isn’t that game breaking because someone else said it? Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow lol
You could expand on this further. If you’re positioning is on point and you don’t have to deal with mechanics that force you out of range and adds don’t spawn outside your range then range is irrelevant. Your range is technically infinite at that point. And we would be doing the same damage we would at either range. We don’t get some flat % dmg increase just because we can hit the target more often.
So in short, Evokers are objectively hurt compared to other classes - FOR NO REASON.
This isn’t about skill. As previously mentioned many times over, it’s about parity with others around something that is default. That is ingrained into the structure of the game lol.
Really? Cause out of this entire thread, I see two for it and the rest despise it lol
Are you saying melee won’t be better if everything usable at 40 yards? That’s objectively wrong.
Also, arguing requires presenting a point. You don’t know how to debate other than plugging your ears and saying the same thing over and over.
should stick to watching if that’s all you can contribute
For the trolls who cant get enough:
Appeal to tradition: “Because it was 25 yards on launch it has to stay that way”
Strawman fallacy: “melee would benefit from 40 yards too so obviously evokers shouldnt have it”
this guy is a clown that would get laughed out of a sophomore debate in high school.
It’s not a failure because that’s literally the argument people toss at it.
Stronger = better. (AKA 40 YARDS.)
Which would also apply to melee.
40 yards would only benefit melee (look at you, rogue.)
Know what everyone should get? Stealth.
Should have italicized the your tbh.
