I see what you mean man. The other are just trying to present themselves as “superior” by playing word games with you. Like you said, the past iteration of Hunter where they couldn’t attack is similar to the area or range where Evoker can’t attack.
I think you may have lost people when you said “reverse deadzone”. It’s kind of like saying “Global Warming” vs “Climate Change”. Most people actually agree about Climate Change but if you were to say Global Warming then they you’re crazy.
Some people just can’t English very well, but for those of us who can focus on the idea at play vs getting caught up in word salad, we’re with you <3
I didn’t say it was an Evoker specific issue now did I? Instead of a green dragon, someone could be wearing a green xmog as any other class. Thanks for playing =)
I did say that soak flowers spawning outside our range are an Evoker specific issue.
The guy you were responding to did. I’m not going to blame the art team because someone wore a red transmog to go fight smolderon, or purple to run through smbg. They’re not going to be able to create tons of unique scenes while simultaneously making them camouflage proof.
It would be more like calling global warming reverse climate change. Literally wrong. Again, that stemmed from a fundamental misunderstanding of what the dead zone actually was. By misinterpreting it as anything below bow range, he erroneously represented the reverse as anything beyond max range.
Fair enough. I would say that in the case of green though, there are over 237 different shades that could be used. On Nymue, they only use 2 it seems lol - SUPER BRIGHT GREEN, and slightly less, super bright green. They also hot fixed using the Inky-Black Potion in the raid too, so wah wah.
I agree with you and others his wording could’ve been better. But can we agree that we all generally got the idea of what he was trying to convey? A zone where either class couldn’t attack, regardless of whether it’s a 3 yard zone or a 15 yard zone, it’s still a deadzone of zero offensive attacking/casting compared to other classes.
Apparently the graphics are so bad on Nymue and other fights that the world first raiders used Inky Black Potions from Shadowlands to see the mechanics better. I tried that recently though and they don’t work in the raid anymore.
So if the world first raiders did that, then clearly the art sucks when it comes to adding color to encounters.
The darkened sky box and ambient lighting causes the brighter spells to contrast a lot more against the usually bright areas. And how recently did you use it? Because I was able to use it Tuesday when my guild killed heroic tindral for the first time
Exactly, yup. I tried it a few days ago on Thursday specifically for Nymue. Maybe they just don’t work on Nymue specifically though? Idk, finished game is finished lol.
Or maybe Tindral is considered to be “outside” and the potions only work outside?
Empowers as a healer are a benefit compared to regular spells because if you have to move before “completion” on normal spells, you do no healing. On an evoker? you heal for whatever empowered rank.
As for time spent casting empowers as aug or dev 10%? Really, it’s not much.
If we keep the short range going into next expansion they could turn the verdant tether embellishment into a talent for preservation.
been playing around with it on my rsham and somehow it triggers something in dps players brains and causes them to stand closer to me when its up. it would really help motivate the ranged that stand 50yrds away to move in closer for healing
I really want to love the Evoker class SO much. When Preservation was released, I was over the moon. I typically play all healers casually, both in PvE and PvP. I’m not an expert in high-end content by any means. However, I have to say, the range limitation is incredibly frustrating.
Here’s my perspective: if Preservation and Devosation are powerful but restricted to short ranges, that’s acceptable. However, it doesn’t make sense for them to be ‘balanced’ against other healers or DPS classes. Why? Because if they operate within the same power bracket as others, all you’re left with is lower range but similar output. As a Druid with a 45-yard range… Yeah, I’ll pass.
Evokers either need to be balanced at a higher output compared to most other classes or they should eliminate the 20/30-yard range restriction. That’s just my take, though.
But then look at melee, they are … melee. The range argument for dps loses merit because literal melee exist. As for healing, Resto druid has most range, most mobility, also used least in RWF.
I’m content with short-range capabilities, provided they are strong enough to compensate for the limitation. If they aren’t, then I’m left with two choices: A subpar melee with range gimmicks or B subpar ranged with melee gimmicks. Neither option appeals to me.
Regarding healers, the ‘RWF’ distinction doesn’t matter much to me since I’m more of a casual player. However, I’ve noticed that evokers are significantly underrepresented across various content types, except for aug. Personally, a healer’s range holds more importance to me because instances of players being out of range have been a long-standing issue in my experience, even before the introduction of the new leashed healer, preservation. The short range further limits the leash. There might be ample mobility, but there’s only a tiny space to cast from, and if I burn it to gap close, do I really have mobility, or is it a band aid for short range?
These are just my thoughts tho, and if I had to vote, I would get rid of the range limit, as at this point, I see no reason to keep it, even by your own logic of melee or druid, as in if there is no reason to get rid of it, there’s no reason to keep it, all it does is limit the class.
Limiting the class and making it more challenging are not mutually inclusive.
I completely agree that pres shouldn’t be limited (at least for non be empowers) by the range.
The people who are complaining about wanting 40 yds for DPS specs legitimately don’t understand that the class is balanced around 25yd and if we got 40, it would likely come with a damage nerf considering a range increase is a direct (and significant) DPS buff.
