Evoker's Range

The room is not big enough to out range the healer if the disc priest remains in melee range of the boss. That would be the disc priests mistake.

? Standing in melee range gives you greatest chance to heal people. It’s standing at max range that’s the mistake (also kind of instinctive.

If the disc priest [is not] in melee range then its a mistake. I think we agree there. I’m saying though it is actually impossible for the priest to be outranged in that situation, but you said you were? If the dps player is in range to dps, than the healer is in range to heal in that fight.

Unless you’re a prevoker, then you’re out of range (very easily so), and need to fly to them which puts you in far greater danger and can easily lead to being out of range of other dps. That isn’t a design philosophy it’s just a design flaw.

I was standing at max range because it’s instinctive to do so.

And the other range was max range on the opposite side.

Well, that is just wrong to do on the boss fight but i’ll bite.

You have to use mobility to get into range, then use VE to heal the hunter. You have a chance to hit any balls and if you hovered a bit to closely and touch the mid point, you immediately die. The range limitation makes the class more difficult for the sake of making it more difficult. Most other games have classes/character that may be more difficult but it is because the outcome of doing the flashy things correctly is better results. In this, the prevoker has no better results.

The disc priest, need only walk a few steps toward the hunter, and press Power Word: Shield on them (or rapture, if they’re in dire need). They don’t need to put themselves in harms way to keep the hunter alive.

My Prevoker is my current main, because I personally find it fun and keeps me busy. Heal someone, throw in dps while people are topped up, dream breath/embrace to where I’m needed, repeat.

Agreed, Prevoker is fun for the most part but the range needlessly hinders us compared to other healers.

Arguing with that Fauxstrasza person and trying to entertain their delusions is not healthy for brain cells. Would highly recommend just blocking them.

I like it in concept but I think evokers specifically (well all casters) should have default cast while moving and instead be rewarded for turreting. There should be some upside or reward for dealing with an inherently shorter cast range which baseline cast with upsides the less you use it sounds fair to me.

I think too that, at most, the evokers various breath spells should be strongest up to 25 yards but trail off

You can’t deal with anyone who prefers otherwise.

That’s your issue.

Get off the forums and relocate to an echo chamber.

It is a ranged class, not that nerfed range for a given reason, that is not them being not a ranged class, but because of the mobility of hover, that is the given reason, and that given reason, is less then numerous other ranged classes.

And even if we go with your often repeated druid melee example, no, that is also wrong, they are not unique, outlaw rogue, and survival hunter also get increased melee range.

And why do multiple melee classes have that? because adding some additional range is something that improves the experience of playing them, it adds fun.
massively reducing the range of a ranged class compared to every other one, for a given reason that isn’t even true to numerous other ranged clases that it is, does not in any way give an increased enjoyment for playing the class, at best it gives ‘oh well’ neutrality, and at usual it gives frustration.

It sucks, but like… eh? I can work around it.

Then why don’t all melee specs have it? They has less fun I guess?

Because as was said and again the response is to try and be deliberately obtuse to, adding something to some of a given group (such as melee) is improving an experience, it is adding variety while increasing enjoyment of the game by adding/improving something, trying to say that adding a small bonus to some melee reduces other melees enjoyment of their class is silly and illogical

massively reducing something to just one member of a group (ranged again in this case) does not increase the experience of anyone, it is not improving an experience, it is not adding enjoyment to the one being massively reduced from all the rest of their group. It is actively doing the opposite, it is reducing the experience of the one being massively reduced, and the reason given for said massive reduction is not even the case, to at best oh well neurality, and to the usual frustration.

It’s not improving experience. It’s everyone experiencing worse gameplay for not having extended melee range. So why don’t every melee spec have it?

Classes are unique.

There is no “we,” it’s just you who went out of your way to swear at others, call them mentally challenged and also call them idiots and imbeciles. There was no need for that. No one else got that hostile. Only you.

Not just me, but anyways it didn’t start out that way lol. If you scroll up I was very civil initially. But when you keep repeating points that were already hashed out or say things that aren’t even coherent, then yes I resort to insults because that’s the only thing left at that point.

You can’t debate with an insane person (Fauxstrasza and others of his ilk).

You come across as one of those people who thinks you can be nice ALL THE TIME. I used to be that guy lol. Then I grew up and stopped getting walked on by self righteous people like you who are too afraid to say what they want or think.

This is far from civil:

Now, that first quote was towards the Druid who has no clue what they’re talking about. So thst is understandable. They are a troll. But you went off the charts with the swearing. lol

But the rest of those were unprovoked towards Faux. We may not agree with Faux, but there was no need to get hostile and then toxic— and you kept getting worse.

We all have bad days and I absolutely snap back at people who snap at me first, but Faux never got that nasty at you— not even after you got nasty at them.

Just don’t get yourself vacationed for that. It’s not worth it. :dracthyr_heart:

All I got to say is when you “Play stupid games, you win stupid prizes”. And Faux was definitely playing some stupid games.

Oh I agree. I’ve even used that phrase around here. lol

But swearing and calling people idiots and imbeciles and mentally challenged is basically you in that same glass house. :kissing_heart:
