Evokers DON'T actually get a third spec in 10.1. *fail horn*

that basically like saying Wikipedia said they would. wowhead is basically just a series of articles written by people who love the game. they can easily be wrong.

They do this a lot because they launched a horrible race/class and want to punish those players that called them out on their dumbassery.

Just fix hiding weapon, at this point it’s all I ask for, surely some intern can do that.

That depends on interpretation. Wowhead never expressly stated that they would get a 3rd spec in 10.1. They stated there was evidence of a 3rd spec in 10.1. Which is factually correct. There IS evidence of a 3rd spec in 10.1, there just isn’t actually a 3rd spec in 10.1.

That being said, I don’t think Wowhead ever said it wouldn’t be in 10.1 even if a 3rd spec is true, so while they never actually said anything wrong and never spread any misinformation, they also left it vague and open enough that some hopefuls could interpret it as a 3rd spec in 10.1 confirmed.

Of course, it shouldn’t have needed to be said anyway. Common sense should dictate that something as big as an entirely new spec would be something very difficult to keep hidden from dataminers, AND would be something that needed proper testing so would have been announced and put on the PTR very early. Anyone that still believed it had a chance for this patch so close to the patch release date is seriously delusional.

You know that in development, the engineers themselves are never directly responsible for the overarching decisions made in terms of feature/release priority, right? Like, Bob the Developer and his cohorts aren’t deciding to make cloak transmogs a priority this week. That’s not how dev works at all.

Im not interested in them for healing, Rshaman is the only healer I like
but tanking would be interesting if they give them tank spec

this is gd. half the people posting here think ion personally draws the art and writes quest text and sets the coefficients for spell tuning

Huh.

What a waste of an allied race.

“There’s no 3rd spec for Evoker in Patch 10.1. Anything is possible in the future.”

But OP, you really thought they would introduce a new “surprise” spec without any kind of testing just before a new season is released?

To me, it feels like is about right not being on 10.1, but the ‘possible future’ being 10.1.7, because it would give enough time for it to be PTR tested and live tested and adjusted accordingly for the next season.

It also seems that this is heavily hinted by a ‘new unlocked power’ story wise. It seems proper from what we saw in the PTR so far for it to be the aftermath of the patch’s storyline.

They got rid of all their QA so
yes.

Not quite because Wikipedia is edited by anyone.

Uh no. I never at any point said I thought they would release a new spec. Nice try. I’m simply posting that Ion said there wouldn’t be one.

People need to remember he is a lawyer and often uses lawyer speak to avoid things he doesn’t want to give away. He will use unnecessary specifics and vagaries to manipulate perceptions. Go watch it. Pay close attention to what he does NOT say and would be far easier which is just “no.”

He gave such a cop-out reason for it too. There is not a single piece of Dracthyr anatomy they have not dealt with in other ways on other races already. The only one that might remotely provide an obstacle from a “how do we morph the armor around this” point of view is the wings because they aren’t centered like Forsaken spines are, but I don’t think most players would care if they just
clipped through the back of the armor. There are far worse clipping issues in the game that go completely untouched.

Beyond that it’s just a matter of hiding helmets and shoes, then actually making morphs for the armor for the rest of the body. That’s not a technical limitation, that’s just not wanting to allocate time to doing it. What a waste of a new race.

Edit: Even better, I just checked and their wings already clip through their existing options. There is nothing standing in their way to making this happen other than their own stubbornness.

Nah, you’re right. They usually PTR test them, gather feedback, then ignore everything and launch it as is.

That doesn’t mean there will be a 3rd spec ever. He just is a manipulative person with his lawyer speak and doesn’t always commit to an answer.

Could you imagine thinking they fully test everything? lol

Not exactly surprised. Throwing a whole new spec in seemed a bit much to hope for
