I’m not dissatisfied with their DPS. I occasionally top the meters with my healer, which feels really nice in M+. Single target, if I don’t have to heal much, I’m usually above at least one DPS and the tank, if not higher.
For survivability as DPS, it’s much better than it was between 61 and 70, though I’ll keep a stack of rank 3 health pots on me just in case, but I don’t have to use them that often. Usually, I’ll focus the biggest threat and cleave the rest. Survivability really depends on your loadout, as if you’re focused more on ST damage, your survivability is more reliant on a healer, since it’s much more difficult to cleave the piddly adds.
I still think letting evokers use living flame on the move would help the “moble caster” claim of the class. Even when hovering we can’t use empowered spells on the move so we feel like locked down turrets with small bursts of movement from time to time. When someone says something is moble I think of the freedom a hunter has. Move and shoot to go. Clearly if everything the evoker has was cashable on the move they would be a little too strong but I think just adding the flame wouldn’t hurt. But that’s my personal opinion.
Having healed many of them in dungeons, can confirm they take way more damage than any other class, and this is with them using their defensive at good times.
I don’t care about PvP, tune that differently, but this class needs like 20% stam or something in PvE to help them out.
I agree trying to run anything above a 14 as devoker, fairly geared 395ish, im just dead compared to everyone else, i don’t stand in stuff, i dont get hit by anything extra and i press my “defensive” it gets quotes because it’s so bad and im like by FAR the lowest hp % in the group like ???
I finally wound up shelving my Evoker for the moment. As I have no desire to heal, and Devastation is among the weakest specs in the game at the moment, there’s just no reason to touch it. I will probably return to it when/if Blizzard fixes the dumpsterfire that is its DPS spec.
It’s definitely a bug, it has to be a bug. Dragon scales might be the issue. Theres no way in hell we have higher armor than plate wearers but just get evaporated.
Well they aren’t great in pvp, either. It’s just not fun all the way around and I’m really trying to like them. They’re even more tissue paper, there, and since the nerf to their burst it’s been… pointless.
They are, and it’s incredibly stupid. Not only are we casters, we’re MAIL casters with a passive buff to our Armor and we’re STILL getting hit harder than mages, priests or any other caster. Even Shamans it feels like, yet we’re higher Armor baseline on top of having the evoker armor passive.
came to the forums because i suddenly felt VERY squishy as soon as i hit 70 on my evoker recently and im wondering if there’s something weird going on with scaling. i was able to pull large packs of mobs and burn them down pre-70 and now if theres more than 2 and im not hitting defensives im in danger :S
i can kite if theres room but some areas can have dense packs
They are in S tier in PvP they healing are really really good but be careful much of your cd are 30 sec CD
if your group take to much damage you will run out of cd to heal that leave you only LF to cast and that not heal really much except if call of ysera is up once you do your verdant embrace
There also “oh sh#%” button that also help like emerald communion and rewind the later you use it when your group did suffer huge damage in the last 5 second
But I join the advice of other devastation spec need a complete rework in defensive and offensive, they range are a big let down buff it to 35 yard for disentegrate, LF, DB, FB, AZ and ES and add one spell that will buff they survivability in PvP and PvE no one want them in arena
and add some black aspects spell offensive like a new essence spender will be nice there not much that represents it and in the lore deathwing did create them that not make any sense
Ehh, I think making it so popping hover doesn’t interrupt regular channel spells would fix most of the issues with the damage collapsing from movement. That should definitely be attempted before a complete rework TBH.
Even with that you only have 2 charge if talented or 3 if you have the talents that let you use your big movement after you are screwed specifically in PvP in PvE that okay at best but can be better
The problem is the range hell buff they armor only in devas spec that will also help or give disentegrate a leech or damage taken reduction while channeling just that will make them a little more durable in PvP and PvE
In PvP I rarely cross devas in arena that really sad to see and I’m one that like to see more diversity in all content
