Evoker Tank - Fortification

When exactly?

High elves mostly.

Honestly I wouldn’t knock it.

Let folk request what they want to, what’s it hurt you if you’re so sure it won’t happen?

Or just release an allied race that’s actually just ya know, a dragon that can tank/heal. Drakthyr can be the heal/DPS dual spec.

You’re missing the point of this thread
A dragon race is not the answer, it’s a dragon class which is what Evoker is.

Been loving Evoker, it’s a shame that it meant abandoning my original main as a tank.

Here’s hoping we get a tank spec in the future to increase the tank population!

It wouldn’t take much have a tank spec for evoker. We have the base skills as a race on our tree. It would be interesting to be a caster tank.

I still long for the obvious addition of a tank spec to a dragon themed class and race.

The parts are there too… Wouldn’t take much.

Don’t want a dragon tank tbh.
Didn’t want a dragon class at all. Wanted more customization for my draenei and velfs >.>

In the starting zone of the Evoker quest line. There are three mottos you can read on the stones. They imply the trinity of MMORPG, healer/dps/tanking.

Also if you look at the class tree side, the top three options are dps/heal/defensive.

Yet they have 5 or more nest areas…
Would have to replay the starting area again to count them.

meaning why not 5 specs?

So?
Every class has a defensiv option in their tree.

10.1 seems to imply a new spec for Evokers
Incoming Tank spec?

I hope so though the scuttle butt suggests it’s some sort of support concept.

I mean unless they are wanting to just drop in a new Role with only one race I’m hesitant on a true support concept.

It seems odd to me to try that all of a sudden.

I’d expect a Support role concept to be rolled out with more of a wide adjustment to specs overall than with just one race/class combo.

I theorized Black and Bronze magic for a tanking specialization, using Black spells for offense and defense (magma claw attacks and earth shields) while using Bronze spells for utility (movement speed, cooldown reduction, delaying damage over time, increasing the tick rate of healing over time effects) similar to Preservation. Though I can see Black and Red magic working well together, both thematically/color-wise as well as showing Red spells’ ability for healing alongside Devastation using it for damage.

This would be amazing…

Again, giving Dracthyr other classes doesn’t solve the missing fantasy if a Dragon themed tank spec.

I heal more than most healers.

I’ve literally advocated for this. If they wanted to make a unique Hero race/class combo so that Dracthyr could only be Evokers, but the Evoker was more dynamic I would love it.

The dirty version:

Blue=ranged castor
Red=mid range/melee combo
Black=tank
Green=support/heals
Bronze=Heavy utility (or bronze abilities peppered throughout all specs.)

I mean druids have 4 specs, why can’t a heroic race/class combo? Dragon race seems like the obvious choice for this. It’s not as niche as DH, and it’s pretty well established that Dragons are pretty diverse.

True, but not always as a start to the tree. And if we are going to look at most other class trees for reference, the first row quite literally usually creates the theme for the spec. Yes there is overlap sometimes, but it’s clear that those talents are designed to set up the spec specific playstyle.

But I guess I don’t see the issue. I’m advocating for a more fleshed out “dragon fantasy” that is more inclusive to different players. It’s pretty clear if you read through these forums, that there is easily a majority of players who think a tank spec at the least is a reasonable concept for dragon fantasy.

What’s your reason for not wanting it?
