I disagree. I think it’s fine as is and would like for blizzard to stick to their guns here. We don’t need another tank or another melee.
Let the caster player base have something for once.

So because of essentially asthetics and that’s it.
Restrict a race from the majority of the player base because of asthetic.
Cause one of the most important peices of this new expansion to be somewhat irrelevant because you don’t want it too have more detail in simply adding a tank spec, which litterally dosent effect you and would appease alot of people, or even just allow them to play a different class, which also dosent effect you.
Sounds like one of the dumbest things blizzard could possibly do if they want too actually gain hype for this class/race.
It will be the least played races (other then maybe mechagnome) and class in the game if this isn’t changed.
Hey or just add a tank spec, wow crazy. Dosent hurt anyone that wants too play ranged.
There are 6 tanks, and over 10 casters.
There isn’t any reason too not just simply add a tank spec.

Not having a tank spec makes a class irrelevant? Wild, guess my class - along with half the other ones - is irrelevant too.
I’ll play it. I don’t really care who else does. As I’ve already said, once the shiny new thing popularity wears off it’ll be played by meta-chasers and people who just like the class, and that’s perfectly fine.
The only reason you have for them having a tank spec is “I want it!” and you’re trying to leverage popularity as an excuse, but that really doesn’t matter.

No clearly if the LORE is challenged some people start breaking into hives or something especially when it seems they want to go full Gollum and protect their shiny Precious from those nasty nasty Melee people. Honestly I feel like half the forum is gloating over the fact that some people will have to wait to main a race for possibly years.

Seriously you are reading through the lines. Alsoo you do realize you yourself said you don’t care if others play it.
So why doo you fight so hard against them removing the class barrier.
You can rp as much as you want as an evoker, other people playing more classes litterally dosent effect you. Instead you want the class to be restricted to a very small subset of the playerbase. A major part of the patch appealing to almost nobody. That simply put, a horrible decision.
That is the most selfish perspective in this argument.

When you could easily just play dragon race with dragon class yourself, while others can play what they want as a dragon.
Horrible design choice which will make them irrelevant. A major addition to the game becoming entirely irrelevant and only played by a small percentage of the playerbase.
It’s about time they made a new ranged caster/heals. We haven’t had a new casting-only spec in 17 years. The problem with having melee specs on healers is they periodically nerf boomies and elemental to the ground and we’re forced to melee or reroll to do decent offspec DPS. Monk/pally don’t even have a choice.
And no, adding a new tank class is not going to fix the tanking shortage. We already have six classes that can tank. What will fix the tanking shortage is not treating tanks like garbage.
New classes added to WoW in case you forgot:
DK - tank/melee
Monk - tank/melee/heals
DH - tank/melee
Dragons - caster/heals… FINALLY!

Nope! Glad you’re getting somewhere.
Every time a new class has been added to WoW, a tank and melee spec has been provided. It’s fine the one time a new class is added, a new tank isn’t added with it. That right there is reason enough in my mind.

A whole race? You are forgetting the fact that the race itself is locked to that aswell.

They’ve already said they’re not doing a tank spec. I’m sure you’ll learn to get over it eventually.
And I don’t care about that. That’s okay. If people really love the race enough, they’ll try new things.
Every time a new class is added in ESO people can play it however they want. :^)

Try sure but can’t main it. Can’t pour the majority of their time into it, sure people can swap but every dungeon and every raid needs tanks. Maybe enough tanks don’t care about the race and it’s not a problem but there will be some who have to make a choice, or who may not even get that choice.
