Yeah it was my biggest fear with getting extra classes.
Like I know some people want other classes on dracthyr and I’m likely going to have an alt just for fun (and also to report any dracthyr quest that’s not flagged properly during my rerun of DF as a… probably hunter tbh), but from an overall popularity standpoint it’s likely that, like Pandaren with monk, evoker remains a supermajority of the dracthyr playerbase. Functionally it might as well not have access to a tank in a scenario like that.

Precisely, I might make a dracthyr-priest alt cause, priest is like the only class I don’t have a real alt for and I do like dracthyr.
But I got into Dracthyr cause of Evoker, and I like Evoker cause of the dragon aspect of it. I really only interact with it because of the draconic theme of it. A Dracthyr warrior is just…a winged lizard holding a shield. It completely misses the theme.

I’m cool with an Evoker tank being added as a 4th spec, or even honestly changing Augmentation to a tank spec if they end up deeming support DPS a failed role. But by the titans if they change Devastation or Preservation to melee AT ALL I will riot. I actually want a minimum 35-yard range on all our spells tbh lol.

Longer range would be nice (not quite as long as mage or hunter) but I admit I like the middle range of the class; good enough to kite, close enough to justify stuff like the melee cc racials.
For sure. Not really the topic of this forum so I will add a short and sweet reply on this that I think 30 to 35 yards would be a really good sweet spot for Evoker. Right now, we feel a bit too close for comfort, especially if you ever PvP, it’s practically melee range. Ret Paladins are meant to literally be a melee class and 80% of their abilities are 25-yards+ now LOL!
I think aug should become some kind of battle mage. It has too many hard cast spells.
Make ebon might instant cast
Change eruption to a swipe attack at 25y with a 3sec cd
Presience could be auto activated through a high damage single target attack at 25y
Keep emp spells the way they are and the rest of the other abilities
Doesnt have to be a tank spec but still would be cool. And why not have a 4th spec? Druids have 4. And i do think that a complete rework of augmentation would be a fine solution unless others like it. I just think your biased cuz you prefer a ranged playstyle that it closes your mind to the possibility that everyone can be happy. I like dev and pres plenty. If others like them too, leave them be and just add another spec for us melee lovers.
Not all Dracthyr are Evokers. Only the “Elite” of them are able to be Evokers. It was in the starting area lore.
Emberthaal is an evoker with a polearm.

Anduin is a Priest with a sword and plate armor. Tyrande is a Priestess with a bow and arrow. Major lore leader characters kind of get a pass to do whatever they want.

You can say whatever you want to but Anduin is a paladin and Tyrande is a hunter.
Regardless, there is an evoker with a polearm, and i want that.

Every Dracthyr in DF was using evoker abilities, even those which weren’t specifically evokers, because the draconic magic is mostly innate. There isn’t a “bronze dragon magic” class to separate from evoker for Siaszerathel.
Also evokers literally get two handed swords, adding polearms would literally be a big nothing.
And the fact remains that evoker should have a tank spec that isn’t just the decidedly not draconic, low effort stuff like just adding warrior to the class roster.
