Semantics. Make it simple for you.
Strong item drop often, item look bad.
Strong item don’t drop much, item look good.

programming and coding is not semantics. a rare/epic item CANNOT have the exact same stats as a legendary. the game simply WILL NOT allow it.
Take two seconds to solve the issue, its not hard mate.
Add the word “unawakened” to the name of the legendary and make it orange text… complete the quest from the -1% drop rate and it’s now awakened and looks good.
Hell even add in a new item quality that’s a dirty brown/orange, specifically called “unawoken legendary” and it has the same stat allocation as a legendary.
Then the precious orange text won’t be tarnished.
And never add in something like this to any legendary ever again.
Yeah, no. The most iconic Legendaries were weapons like Val’ anyr, Shadowmourne, Fangs of the Father and Dragonwrath. The legendaries that you got by collecting raid quest items and overcoming difficult challenges. That system works a lot better than just slapping an absurdly low drop rate on the gear and calling it a day.
I’d like to add to this, the actual item level of that item is not 457, but more in the range of between 482-486, thus being the strongest weapon in the game by 32-36 item levels.
I’d also like to bring some attention to this thread Done with this legendary system made a few weeks ago. A guy at 3.5k rating in M+, needing this to push further and tired to seeing casuals gathering herbs and having that weapon dropped from LFR.
This system was a mistake, one which I hope Blizzard will learn from with the new upcoming one. This item should have a low % to drop on LFR, but maybe like 20% from Normal, 50% from Hero and guaranteed for Mythic. Right now even in Mythic it’s hell to get it. And despite the %, there should be a huge bad luck protection, say if you kill him 5 times with no drops the 6th is guaranteed or something.
Or drop the power altogether so that it’s not mandatory to have for higher tier players. Like maybe a 2-5% power increase compared to Mythic end-of-raid Weapons, so that for very high tier players it isn’t that insane but it’s very big for more casuals. Right now it’s so powerful that it will be most likely equipped on Mythic Players of next tier, despite the Mythic Ilvl going up +39 instead of +26 like usuals.
I’m surprised to learn this legendary is even rare considering the emote never stops in Valdrakken.
…yes it can?
Sylvanas’s Bow was the ilvl of the same raid, with the same stats as the gun/bow that dropped in Sanctum.
Sylvanas’s Bow was such a weak legendary that a Heroic Regular Gun/Bow was more damage than a Normal Legendary, same with a Mythic Regular Gun/Bow vs Heroic Legendary.
The emote is region-wide, meaning it’s 1 out of hundreds of servers
Let’s say there’s a chat emote every 5 minutes, but take in consideration about 8.5% of the population plays Evoker, the total player base being 129M but let’s just take 1/5th of that for this so about 26M, that’s about 2.2M Evokers in the player base across all regions, now sure maybe 1/20th of that have killed Sarkareth once so like 110k across all regions, which still sounds like a lot so let’s say even half of that, 55k
EVEN WITH 55k Evokers having killed Sarkareth, just imagining that the chat message happens once every 5 minutes it’d take 190 days straight of that for all Evokers to have it, if it was every 2 minutes, 76 days
It’s a lot LOL
But that’s also to give a picture on how many do NOT get the weapon. By the first month, only 8600 would have it, by the third month, only half, 26k would have it, now in that there’s probably 80-90% casuals or semi-hardcore and only 10-20% hardcore or players pushing higher, that’s like 20-23k of those that aren’t even using it at its full potential
So now imagine for that 1% of the evokers, that are mythic raiders, insane 3.5k rating M+, attempting to achieve the 0.5% of their class, imagine how it must be for those in that 1-0.5% to not have the weapon that’s 32-36 item level more powerful than any mythic weapon
At this point I doubt they will do anything. The influencers have theirs so no one is going to bring attention to the issue. Imagine that the people who could actually make a difference already got theirs.
They can just do what they did with fangs of the father, dragonwrath, and shadowmourne and have it upgrade as you go until you get a legendary.
The questlines gave you the weapon, and it started as an epic and slowly upgrade as you did the questline to get the legendary
21 Weeks of Heroic Sark kills so far, still waiting for that bad luck protection to kick in.
Heroic Kill #7 tonight. Still nada.
I realized as my Spotify playlist was playing and one of t swifts songs came on, and then it hit me.
Blizzard’s official stance on the leggo at this point is “You’re on your own, kid”
I am waiting for a blue to show up here and admit that they messed up the code for this per tier drop system because this sure has not been fun. I am only 0-14 (all on the “protection plan” heroic level)
In a few weeks will anyone still be running this raid, or is this Lego dead for good.
It’s the only bad thing of this entire expansion for me.
The legendary will sadly be replaced next season, and to make it worse the next legendary item they are adding is going to probably have a better acquisition method.
I have this Evoker Legendary now, but it still feels bad knowing I spent weeks trying to get this, did a questline, spent a wow tokens worth of gold on materials and crafting orders, all for it to be replaced. A legendary item being replaced in one single patch is just awful.
The legendary items of classic, TBC, cataclysm, (not mentioning WoTLK because I’m unsure on that expansion), all stayed BiS all expansion. I just want it to last more than 1 season for this one.
Considering i played vanilla, looted my first binding in the tbc prepatch and only just looted the second binding a few weeks ago, im glad you got your leggo in the same patch it was added, im glad you got some use to it during current content.
I do agree that it should be useful next patch though, my evoker hasnt seen a drop and the only evoker in guild is rerolling resto druid next tier because prevoker doesnt feel fun to him anymore.
15 kills post bad luck protection and it finally dropped. Party up with others that have the buff to get your 400 Temporal Vestigial.
I hate all RNG legendary drops, and I say that as an evoker who got the current one (well, the token to start it) on my first kill of Sarkareth. But I have absolutely been in the position of desperately wanting a legendary, spending countless hours chasing it, and never getting it. It is beyond frustrating. Even if you eventually get it, it can be at the end of the item’s usefulness, so that feels bad, too.
Much prefer a quest line — even if it is complicated and difficult — that does not depend on blind dumb luck.
0/15 attempts on heroic with “bad luck protection” and just about to become useless.
I could have been helping friends, doing other stuff instead of 1-7 hours a week failing at farming this thing.
Sunk cost fallacy is in full effect, and it’s terribly unfun.
Maybe when patch drops those who don’t have it should get 100k gold for each heroic attempt made because wasting our time is just rude.
I dont care about the damned thing, I just want the game to stop shouting at me -no matter where I am - whenever someone gets it.
We do not care. Really, we don’t, please stop. And if they start doubling up on this with the new one, I may start chewing on the furniture.
