Everything wrong with Outlaw

I’ve played combat/outlaw my entire play time of this game and I have to say this is the worse state the class has ever been in.

Massive bugs:
Crack shot disabling the use of between the eyes.
Killing spree randomly disconnecting you.
Grappling hook just failing and going on CD.

Talent restrictions:
I’ve played 3 classes in total, both other classes felt like they had some flexibility, outlaw on the other hand feels like it had a strict pattern you can not break.
The left side of the tree is dominated by vigour and the 2 charges of vanish.
The right hand tree just feels like you can’t move anything around much (or would want to) without completely breaking the spec.

We are basically another sub rogue:
I was always under the belief that combat/outlaw was the toe to toe of 3 specs, right now it’s just playing around vanish windows, somehow it’s even more dependant on stealth windows than ever before.
Vanish is currently our dps cooldown.

RNG on RNG.
Between the eyes procs.
Combo builders giving between 1 combo point, and max combo points despite all being the same button.
Roll the bones RNG.
Coin flip RNG.
Between the eyes working or not RNG.

Spinning plates:
AR uptime.
Bones uptime.
Stealth window uptime.
Ghostly strike uptime.
Blade flurry uptime.
Relentless blades completely throwing out any semblance of where we are meant to be.
depending on upper mentioned RNG to dictate where our plates are at.

Class annoyances:
Our main dps cooldown not being useable in open world or 1v1 with anything.
Stealth being broken by coin flips on AR and slice.
BETWEEN THE EYES NOT RESETING.
Overall lack of defensives outside of evasion.

Other points.
Our wanted stat distribution is still vers/crit. Mastery is largely indicative of a dead item.
Still no knife throwing glyph.

Overall I got my outlaw to max level, played around on it a bit and it just felt like everything has been a bloody mess for now and for a long time leading up to it.

This spec actually needs a full rework and to move the hell away from being hobo sub.

Hill Billy Sub.

I personally don’t mind the Sub/Outlaw hybrid build of Crackshot but by making it the dominate build it really undermines all other talent choices in the tree.

Even after the nerf Crackshot builds still are going to be dominating. when it is all said and done.

At this point I am not sure why Ghostly Strike and Greenskin’s wickers are cap stone talents as I think they need to be bumped up in potency to be considered actual capstones.

Keep it Rolling at 6 minutes on the PTR is an improvement but eventually I think they will kick it down to 5 minutes sooner or later.

Talent choices are above average compared to other classes and Outlaw is not far behind Sub. But the problem remains the core identity of the spec that is muddled which impacts how the talents interact with the core identity and kit of the spec.

The loss of Dreadblades was basically moved into Crackshot and there isn’t much room or enough talents to replace that loss in non Crackshot builds.

When the RNG of Crackshot works in your favor you are really pumping better than you could with Dreadblades in terms of damage and CDR.

But it also works against you in terms of RNG and bugs too where you have nada and it is also around stealth/Vanish windows.

Basically to sum it up Outlaw has too many opportunity costs that leads a path to nowhere. And the reward for sacrificing talent X for talent Y is not great enough to choose talent Y when X is simply way better. A tough opportunity cost is okay if there is a payoff but Outlaw is lacking that at the moment.

When the RNG of Crackshot works in your favor, you run out of energy.

That is another issue too but at this point assuming BTE works and the RNG of Ace up your sleeve work that is a lot of ifs…

people complaining about outlaw rng when sub and sin has almost simliar amount of variance :pepew:

You don’t even have to take away Vanish Dancing, if some people want to keep it as is. Just please, for the love of God, give us some viable alternate builds and some actual Hero talents

Seal Fate has never come close to the variance of damage profile it can provide compared to RTB. So yeah even the most iconic RNG of Rogue kingdom aka Seal Fate is dwarfed by the king of RNG which is RTB.

again like in the other thread, if you think rtb as any major impact on your damage. then your just bad at outlaw

its easier to blame “rng” than actually improving your gameplay

its such a cop out, that it got old in bfa.

heres how little the “Rng” of rtb actually effects your damage. in the upcoming .5 patch, your pressing rtb on cds no matter what rolls you have cause the two anima charges are marginally better.

ten bucks says people will still blame rtb rng for their green parses

Nothing feels worse than desperately needing to grappling hook out of a bad situation only for it to do nothing lol

No, it’s just an annoying no feedback button that I have to slap once every 30 seconds or else I lose a load of damage.

It’s just a bad spell and it sucks for the same reason people have been complaining about slice and dice for all these years.

Granted in modern times slice and dice is fire and forget

Which makes it worse than SND in a lot of ways IMO. Worst part is you need to take several talents just to make RTB function at a Mendoza level.

the best part is that none of these is even a new bug. they’ve all been around a while, none of them even acknowledged that i know of.

Outlaw is perfect besides all of the bugs.

So perfect in PVP that is require zero buffs? Are you so sure about that?

The damage in PvP currently is outstanding. Until it gets nerfed tomorrow LOL. It may need a damage tweak when vers starts scaling.

Nah, we need a viable alternative build with no Vanish Dancing and some actual Hero Talents

this obsession with no vanish, is getting concerning. play warrior if you dont want to play a rogue with stealth

I love Stealth. I don’t play other characters because I feel naked without stealth in world content. But I hate using it in combat, which, in the eight years I’ve played Rogue, has always been Subtlety’s thing. Literally all I’m asking for is a viable build that doesn’t rely on the clunky mid-combat stealth mechanic, which frequently resets fights in solo combat
