Bring back the old winfury animation or create an updated version of the old one. The current one is barely visible.
-
Make Lava Lash spread Flame Shock to nearby targets. Without this, Fire Nova is a useless talent.
-
Allow Enhancement Shamans to use 2-handed weapons.
-
Bring back Frostbrand Weapon.
-
Allow Enhancement Shamans to select which weapon they are enchanting with weapon imbues. Forcing us to put Windfury on the main-hand and Flametongue on the off-hand coupled with the fact that those are the only two weapon imbues available makes them an annoying buff you have to press. They may aswell be passive abilities the way they are currently.
-
Bring back the Windstrike(Ascendance) animation from Mists of Pandaria. It used to be a massive lightning bolt shooting out from your weapons. The current animation feels weak in comparison.
-
Unlink the Flame Shock and Frost Shock Cooldowns. There aren’t enough buttons to press for single target DPS at the moment. Unlinking these cooldowns would dramatically improve this.
-
Bring back Earth Shock for Enhancement.
-
Make it so that Maelstrom Weapon stacks also reduce the mana cost of spells by 20% per charge consumed. This will help to alleviate mana regeneration concerns (particularly when using Healing Surge).
-
Increase the base healing done by Healing Surge. As it stands, even with 5 stacks of Maelstrom Weapon, Healing Surge heals very little.
-
Allow Astral Shift to be useable while stunned.
-
Make Nature’s Guardian baseline. As it stands, it is the only clear choice of talents in that row as Shamans have very low survivability.
Enhancement is SO CLOSE to feeling good again. With a few minor changes it can be amazing. For me personally the most pressing issues are LL not spreading FS, and the fact that there are only 2 weapon imbues and they can’t be assigned to the weapon you choose.
Feel free to add anything I forgot to mention.

I barely agree with just a couple of these. If Blizz did all of them it wouldn’t touch why I abandoned my Enh Sham for Slands.

Why did you abandon Enhance for Slands? And what would you like to see?
I’d rather them just allow Enhancement to transmog 2 handed weapons. It is possible, as Holy Paladin shows.

That’s not what I want.
I want base cast strength of heals and lightning restored to 100% of normal strength with each MSW stack granting +10% damage/heal and -10% mana cost. That way MSW casts actually feel impactful and we can still hard cast normally.
I want mana costs of a number of abilities reduced so we can regen mana better in combat so we’re not the only class/spec that just runs out of gas in a fight and can’t do anything:
LL reduced from 4% to 2%
CL reduced from 6% to 4%
Purge reduced from 10% to 5%
WF totem reduced from 12% to 5%
Or I want an active mana regen mechanic like we’ve had in every past iteration of the spec post-vanilla where dps abilities cost mana that gives us mana from attacking.
I want astral shift useable while stunned and a defensive conduit that reduces its CD by 30 seconds
I want primal earth elemental baseline for a second wall and control over the ele so its not a liability and can be positioned.
I want 2 charges of stormstrike so stormbringer doesn’t get wasted.
I want feral spirit to actually do damage like a DPS CD should.
I want nature’s guardian to be baseline and replaced with a mobility talent like earth grab totem so we actually have a choice of talents on that row.

Lol, the number one issue facing Enhance is mana regeneration compensation. Why is that not on this list?
We are double punished for using heals and utilities because
- we have crap mana regen
- we don’t have the previous mana regeneration abilities or compensation that previous maelstrom weapon stack xpacs offered
- we not only sacrifice our dps to cast a heal
- that heal costs mana which in turn makes it possible to be unable to do your dps rotation when you have to use your main surivivability tactic
No other melee spec faces this issue.
No other melee spec is double punished for healing.
No other melee spec sacrifices their damage to heal.
Every other melee spec has control over their resource generation, or has significantly fast regen (energy ticks).

Zezu, as usual, you nailed it. I don’t have much faith these forums are really looked over since the overall attitude is very toxic to Blizz and the players themselves but I have hope as things are trending in the right direction-ish.
Also, I am really confused as to why they took away that massive lighting bolt attack Ascendance had back in MoP. That felt SO GOOD to use and see instead of these two air disks we toss slowly while where in a GOD form lol.

After playing a lot of Beta/PTR Enhance, I realized I wanted to like Enh far more than I actually did. A few grievances:
- Survivability is irredeemable trash. One bad defensive with no synergy with anything else. Even Enraged Regen gives damage reduction, AND makes Bloodthirst heal for more, AND can be used while stunned. Astral Shift is awful. As for heals, they never felt good to press. Ever. No other class wastes GCDs on worse healing than Enh.
- The offensive cookdowns feel awful. Feral Spirts might be hands down the worst offensive in the entire game. Ascendance feels like a 1 min cooldown you have to wait 3 minutes for, with an absurdly bad increase in dps for the duration in pve. It ONLY feels good in PvP, which is maybe fine? But I didn’t like it personally.
- The prio rotation just didn’t feel good to me. A bunch of mediocre buttons you press while Stormbringer interrupts the flow. Stormstrike doesn’t feel that good to press, Frost shock is OK with Hailstorm, Flame Shock is whatever, Lava Lash is whatever. Just not my cup of tea if I’m being honest with myself.
- I don’t even like the utility. Purge spam is the most godawful way to PvP, especially when you see a full rack of HoTs or buffs or whatever appear instantly after spamming the button several times in a row, not pushing any of your damaging abilities in the process. The heals are a fairly substantial feeling net dps loss for a mediocre heal and a loss of a GCD. What totems there are are OK, but ever time a Grounding get fire blasted immediately an angel loses its wings. Mobility is wrapped up almost entirely in a button that makes you lose the ability to use other abilities.
All of this is essentially just me not enjoying the spec. I want more oomph in a builder/spender, I want better cool downs, I want better defensive options, I want better rushdown utility. Warrior has all of that for me over Enh, no matter how much Enh might get tuned into stardom.

Decades of posting on video game forums and this is the first time someone has said that to me. I appreciate you, Zezu.
Also I’ll at a minimum always lurk the Shaman forums. I still love the class aesthetically and I’ll want to keep a pulse on things. If I’m not planning on playing and don’t have current experience though I won’t be weighing in as much.
Why not just take the mana cost back off attacks, like pretty much every other DPS?
Mana’s only used anymore for utility skills for pretty much everyone. It’s a non-factor otherwise.
Don’t really understand why they made the change in the first place, tbh.
My guess is that it was intended to limit in-combat mana regen in a more natural way than a flat 30% nerf to mana regen in PvP like we had in BFA.
But seems like they overdid it and made in-combat mana regen too slow.
Also, unlike a flat 30% nerf to mana regen, adding mana costs to the basic rotation means if you run out of mana you can’t even fight. Which is pretty dumb.

I enjoyed reading you being actually reasonable in that huge 2H Shaman thread- though that’s the only way I know of you.
I mean, no other class in the game, even those with pvp-specific nerfs to healing/regen has this issue, and they didn’t do it for anyone else. Mana doesn’t stop anyone else from fighting except Arcane (and that’s their entire mechanic).
Like, mages literally regen enough mana in the GCD of a spell that empties you to continue dpsing immediately. They can’t Arcane Explosion (1k mana) and Cone of Cold is 400 and thus takes like .1s longer than a GCD to get enough mana for, but everything else is immediately available.
I don’t think that’s their reasoning here. It doesn’t make sense when mana isn’t a meaningful resource for any other DPS in the game to attack with.
I really dont care to have frostbrand weapon back. Meh. We are supposed to be getting stronger, how do we not just have like… Frostfire shock by now lol. Applies flameshock dot, and a slow, does mediocre damage. Id be happy with this.

That’s more refreshing to hear than you might think, as sometimes I felt like a crazy person in that thread. I do genuinely believe anything more than a mog option is a waste of Blizz’s time though.
TLDR edition: Make it Elemental Shaman, but with auto-attacks.

Man that list looking good, add a defensive and that would be fun to play!
