Everything coming in 11.1.5 makes no mention of Dinars - they've been removed

Once again we were promised something and once again cold feet were gotten and it was removed before being delivered.

Choosing gear is too strong.

We might actually have fun.

Evidence for cartel chips being removed:

  • It ain’t on PTR, sure looks like it’s gone bud.
  • No mention of what became of them, because that’s what always happens when something will catch universal backlash because it’s a bad idea; they’d rather do radio silence than change the thing everyone criticizes them about.

Evidence for cartel chips being there in 11.1.5

Honestly this is pretty bad. Raid RNG is the worst loot system ever devised

I see Shadowlands Blizzard continues to creep back into the game as soon as they see a little bit of positive reception. Gotta start being jerks to the players again.

Must have ended up with the same developer that was going to make sure Odyn’s Fury remained a powerful signature ability for Fury Warriors that’s independent of Avatar with patch 11.1 (spoilers: that didn’t happen either)

Bye bye bis.

Typically aren’t dinars introduced in the last patch of an expansion? Not the middle of a middle patch

Gotta keep people playing. :dracthyr_a1:

Go straight to your room, without dinar tonight.

Then it would make more sense for it to be the last one. Which I guess would 11.2

Dinars are a stupid idea anyway, the problem is that raiding drops too little loot in general.

5-man dungeons drop 2 pieces of gear per 5 players. Raids drop half that (1 piece per 5 players). And dungeons are endlessly spammable, whereas raids can only be done once per week.

They need to double the amount of loot that drops, AND remove the weekly lockout, or else triple/quadruple the amount of loot that drops, and keep the lockout.

But the starvation diet they have raiding on is no bueno.

(Regularly scheduled reminder that they actually REDUCED the amount of loot that drops in raids, back in Shadowlands.)

((Also the “very rare” items need to go away. Stupid idea.))

Yes, and that’s why they were eagerly anticipated this time. We’ve never had them outside of throwaway content. Players have wanted a non-RNG way to get gear that refuses to drop for 15 years. IIRC Wrath was the closest and last time we had any, badge gear wasn’t BiS but it did a good enough job of filling slots.

Idk Brewa, you might upset someone who only run keys with this take.

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Dinars are also a one-sided system, that’s true.

If M+ trinkets were on the vendor that would at least try and look equitable. But they don’t even do that.

I don’t think they’re a stupid idea, it’s just 100% loot protection at a slow pace, 100% agree raid loot should be increased

How many posts do you need to make about the exact same topic?

Everyone trying to act like just because it isn’t on PTR and just because it can’t be datamined and just because the devs have made no mention of dinars after announcing their removal from renown isn’t indicative of anything. Delusions everywhere.
