Everyone should have a path to progress to max ilvl gear, EVERYONE!

ralph can i have a hug

Played Ultima Online back when it was new. Could lose all your gear from death. But it didn’t take me forf***inever and 39 other clods to get new or upgraded gear.

The feeling of power. The ability to do more damage and impress people in lower keys and raids. Self satisfaction.

And PvP. Still
the greatest danger to players
are other players.

I despise raiding. With that said, I feel like a lot of people would cease raiding for the same reason if they didn’t have to do it, which would hurt those that enjoy this type of gameplay. Might work if they did it right? Idk. But here is another point, if we dont like raiding, why do we really need max ilvl gear in the first place? I’ve always been content just getting midrange epics myself. Just to the point where end game solo PVE content isnt a struggle anymore.

Ok I see the issue with the back and forth here and what some people are trying to convey.

If the gap of player power exceeds a great space, the Casual player will cease to play/exist.
i.e. Player:A: is Mythic+ Pro after his travels and raiding he is rewarded with Ilvl 325.
Player :D: is Casual player who runs the world doing quest maybe runs some dungeons/lfr, He is rewarded Ilvl 160

No one is gonna play casual very long if the gap between those two players is that far.

If the casual is reduce to Greens/blues and ilvl so far down he/she will simply not do the content because the reward of doing it is not worth the effort.

Kill 45 elite demons on Helldeath ridge for this green straw hat ilvl 140 +12 spirit +11 stam

That is why I always believed gear ilvl should scale slower the higher you go.

right now it is:
normal 200, last 2 bosses 207
heroic 213, last 2 bosses 220
mythic 226, last 2 bosses 233

Instead it should be

Normal 200, last 2 bosses 207
Heroic 209, last 2 bosses 215
mythic 215, last 2 bosses 218

You still get to have a higher ilvl from mythic but not a ridiculous ilvl difference compared to now

i agree with you, if i pay to play this game for the pvp, i should not have to spend the time grinding pve on top of it to be competitive in the pvp community.

Even as a casual player I wouldn’t feel fulfilled with myself if I could just do WQ mythic gear that kind of defeats of purpose of mythic raiding now doesn’t it? I feel if you do harder content you should be rewarded as such. That like with anything in life the harder you work or more effort you put in the rewards are more likely than not going to be better
I would feel as though the game would be pointless if I could just jump on do a few WQ for mythic gear
it would take the fun out of trying to achieve something in game such as downing raid bosses etc
“oh wow I killed this dude in a WQ now I have a mythic level ring” yah not for me dawg even as a casual player who does heroic raids sometimes and runs keys
for most it’s about feeling rewarded for your efforts

Which is exactly what they took away from those pvper’s uninterested in doing pve for their gear. Random battlegrounds were once a starting point for pvp gear so you could gear up and then enter rated pvp. Now they are a stomp fest for raiders.

SL separation is half what it is in BFA, and the reason BFA got to the ilvl difference it did was because casual that wanted to raid in friends and family guilds wanted to be able to do it without cutting players or having to pug. Leading to flex raids being added. So you got LFR, Flex, Normal, Heroic. They extended flex to Normal, changed the names down a level and mad Heroic into Mythic. A difficulty that can actually be tuned to having a set number of players and class orientation. Flex had to take into account a raid not having a mage, or rogue, or hunter. Mythic can be tuned so you need any one of those classes. Flex boss abilities need to to scale, making it harder to have more punishing effects.

but your reward is completing the challenge, not the gear according to some posters.

If everyone could easily get the gear whats the motivation to get it whats the purpose of end game raiding, grinding, bantering with your friends after you got the BiS piece for your set.

There are already in my opinion to many paths to getting good gear and to go bigger into rabbit hole would just ruin the end game experience for everyone. Why get mythic raiding gear if you can just get a dungeon piece the same level.

I understand that people are busy, have lives, kids, friends, families, work but it is an mmo and an old mmo at that. There are already plenty of genres of games that but everyone on an even playing field, or give instant gratification I honestly think these changes would kill the game and I would really like the see WoW succeed even more.

No it doesn’t evaporate but it’s made to be pointless if casual players have access to the same level gear for doing much less content.

As far as WoW evolving outside the parameters of an MMO, clearly the devs want to get back to what the game is about as they’re the ones who decided you don’t get to cruise through the game and have an inflated ilvl that belies your actual skill.

Sorry. You can enjoy the game in a “meaningful way” doing the casual content and get appropriate rewards for it.

Why DO you believe you deserve the same high ilvl gear as someone who DOES have the time to commit to it? Effort should equal reward. It’s senseless entitlement to think otherwise. It’s the foundation of an MMO and until further notice WoW IS an MMO (as much as you all wish it would devolve into an RPG).

Why the heck are you playing an MMO then? The social experience is an absolute part on an MMO. They’re literally designed that way. This the way it’s been for decades

You need gear to murder other players in warmode and pvp too you know, that also counts as social experience : )

Killing players is social part of the MMO many enjoy far more than others

No
it’s not dumb. I don’t expect a MMO experience from FF7R. Why should I expect a single player experience from an MMO. It’s literally designed to always be group content, expect for questing. That’s not gonna change.

This comment has nothing to do with what you posted. Follow the replies.

Then do Mythics?

And there’s a way to progress doing that so that you don’t need hand outs from Bliz.

Wanna be a beast in wPvP? Work for it. DO arenas and battlegrounds and all that other pvp stuff. Maybe learn to play your class/spec along the way.

Novel idea, I know.

I’m sure pvp’ers feel the same way about people getting handouts as raiders and key runners do: not for it.

Don’t want to work for it then don’t turn on warmode. Easy fix.

I have, but its getting the nerf warhammer in shadowlands. But truth be told i didnt know the glory and easyness of gearing to such extremes through mythic plus till like 8.2.5 after i hit extreme burn out.
