Everyone should get equal gear in PVP

You may want gear progression, I do not. I want to do PvP.

Honest question. If you want gear progression, is the current system even fulfilling?

I never claimed to be an adult, all I said was that the player base is old. Maybe people have more time than I do, who knows. But I can for sure tell you I’d rather be doing something engaging in the game then afk brain off grinding levels and gear.

If people truly want gear progression, Classic is available. And the progression there is a lot more substantial.

they really raised to bottom anyways. so even if you are leveling an alt and catching up gear really isnt that big of an issue and its so easy to get. pvp is basically childs play and the thing is … if you play rated…every single play has exactly the same gear as you. so that makes this entire thread pointless

You are correct. I don’t enjoy leveling and farming honor gear. I guess you could call afking bgs PvP, but it is barely.

I do enjoy ranked PvP though, it is really fun and I enjoy pushing rating :). If it wasn’t fun, I wouldn’t be doing it. Same goes for leveling and honor farming, but it is a requirement.

most of us already beat the old game and im of the belief all the other options and versions of wow have taken away from the retail player base to the point it has affected bg que times at every level.

Years ago there was a discussion in the pvp organizations on the topic of what would fix a lot of the gear and pvp issues and the best idea was to make pvp BGs its own separate server with gear loadouts and some unlocks but for the most part there would be an even playing field on the gear side.

Be a similar concept to say Battlefield where you can do some customizing of the loadout but for the most part people just get some unlocks and skins to collect.

If they did this then talents and spells could be balanced or even completely different from the PvE side of WoW without the two conflicting.

You’re a jack *** clown faced monkey.

We do, but there are 3 tiers of that "same ilvl’ gear. I personally feel like a CQ cap, the 1600 token, and the pvp socket items make it a bit more difficult to play catch up and be on the same level as others who started sooner. With the pvp crafted gear, embellishments, and the bloody token gear, it can take some time investment to get on a level playing field when you’re just starting out. When conquest finally uncaps this will be less of a problem though.

Don’t hate him because you got called out bud HAHAHA

nope

Gear disparity is another barrier to entry for PvP. If we want to increase PvP participation, we should consider removing these sort of unfun obstacles.

Many people don’t enjoy being fodder for geared players. Gear disparity causes players to AFK or bot while they’re catching up on gear. Some people even use it as an excuse to premade raid.

Games are ruined when one team is mostly ungeared and the other team is mostly geared.

The whole gearing process gives Blizzard more time to ignore balance issues because we need to wait until everyone is fully geared and who cares about imbalances at lower ilevels.

This is a reason I support no conquest caps. Let everyone get bis’d and then let’s fight. No excuses then.

If the real balanced PvP doesn’t start until we’re all fully BIS, why not just start there?

We’d be ahead of pve players in terms of ilvl and our gear already has the advantage of a higher upgrade allocation than typical item ranges. I also like to be able to make incremental progress with my gearing. Heraldries after conquest cap is removed will make for an interesting season, but also solves this problem, in my opinion.

I think it shows Blizzard isn’t confident in their “end game” for each PvP season. It’s not balanced enough. Or maybe it’s not fun enough. Or both?

So, they need to have this whole gearing rigmarole each season to keep players distracted and occupied for a while. There’s this promise of balance after you finish gearing up. If it’s not actually balanced and your spec is still weak when you’re BIS, oh wells, next season will be here soon. Better luck next season. You get to gear again. And find out later if balance is actually good or not again.

I think it is a matchmaking problem in need of a solution for BGB. In Solo Shuffle you will feel farmed, true. I think once conquest uncaps though then the real balancing could happen, and more players will enter the pool. Until conquest uncaps, I feel like most players just focus on PVE, then they’ll jump into BGBs to gear up.

You think you do, but you don’t.

Do you have any idea what would happen if this was the case? Can you not predict the unintended consequences of this? You think things are unfair right now… just imagine what’d happen if every no-lifer could be fully geared in a day!

That’s the gist of it. You can’t be bothered.

In the time you’ve spent Trolling this forum, you could’ve geared up!

No real competitive PVP game has a rated system where one team starts out with a gear/stat advantage - It makes no sense and is one big reason why some people quit this game/pvp after the first month of every expansion.

Its clear that they care less about balance and gameplay quality and more about forcing people to be part of the rat race.

By the time you’re ready for the real competition - and not just random BGs or meme brackets, everyone is on a (relatively) equal playing field.

I was very heavy on the side of gear being obtainable by everyone regardless of rating. I found pvp gearing to get worse and worse every expansion after WoD.

DF was the first time since WoD that it felt good again, and TWW only made it even better.

Six great changes in no particular order:

  1. PVP item level not tied to rating in any way
  2. PVP gear can be converted to get PVE tier sets (no need to do any PVE)
  3. BG Blitz. I love this game mode. I can get rating and conquest without needing to do arena or deal with RBG LFG.
  4. Crafting for PVP created lots of flexibility for gearing.
  5. Lots of ways to get conquest even without doing any rated content
  6. Warmode gear
