I played it a long time ago. Don’t remember much progression in PVP. And that’s what made it super boring.
the scene opens in a dingy but organized auto mechanics shop. with a cigar in his lip the owner is wiping the oil off his hands with a red shop towel after examining the car for only 10 minutes. he points to your complacency and says “well there’s your problem” without losing the ash, which is about an inch long, from the stogie.
and scene.
The OG Guild Wars has exactly what this guy wants, and it’s boring af. NTM, it’s a dead game as well.
We had templates and everyone hated it.
Honestly, it’s never been easier to get gear. Honor falls from the sky practically.
If you level from 70 to 80 in BGs you can bank all the honor you need to get a full Honor set at 80. Boom, you’re relevent from a gear standpoint virtually immediately.
There is a hard weekly cap on conquest so everyone is getting conquest gear at exactly the same pace. They gave us free tokens for crafted gear and a token for a conquest weapon. If you do the WM quests you can get WM gear with bloddy tokens (also capped) . If you have been half-a$$ing it and at minimum keeping pace since the season started you should have just as much gear as the highest rated players. If you have any semblance of a clue about gear you should have a couple three crafted pieces, 3 or 4 conquest (not including the free weapon), a couple three WM pieces and a few honor pieces. Just like everyone else. There is no gear advantage. It’s a wonderful thing.
The only possible advantage would be with gems and enchants which are expensive AF and if you don’t have a lot of gold I can see that as a problem. But thats it.
If you hate it that much you could buy most of a full set of PVP gear.
ill have capped honor and 6 bloodstones going from 70-80 doing 99% bgs.
FFXIV has PvP templates.
Gear is equalized, there are even PvP-only rotations and spells.
You can take in your level 10 guy and bang coconuts with a level cap guy, and maybe come out on top if you know what you’re up to.
That’s the gold standard. That’s where we should be. Anything less than that is our playerbase getting gipped.
Do you enjoy levelling in bgs?
Are the matches close, are you learning from your interactions, are you improving?
Are the queues quick?
We already have equal gear in PVP. This is the best gearing we have had in a long while.
Everyone is (can be) the same maximum ilvl. Yes, you can be behind in term of grinding, but it’s so easy to gear now in PVP.
if we are talking about conquest gear, then i’m gonna have to disagree.
participation awards arent good
Participation award? What’s the reward? Getting an advantage on other players?
Yes its called competition. Learn to accept it.
Lol. I thought competition was a skill contest, not one dude outgearing the other.
SO what youre saying is this.
Basketball teams should only be allowed to have the same amount of 7 footers and everyone has to be the same height speed and weight
ANd every football team has to have a Patrick Mahomes because no one should have an unfair advantage.
NASCAR did that crap with their cars it went in the crapper. They made every car exactly the same and it sucked,.
Blizz did the equal gear crap wioth templates and it was boring and it flopped at the box office.
Well, football teams have a salary cap. They are balanced by spending the same amount on the team.
I don’t think there’s any significant difference in F1 cars, they all have a power limit, and that’s a pretty popular sport.
Progression is kind of a thing in WoW. Not like there’s a lot of it in Pvp though. My hunter got a full honor set and a couple of conquest pieces the same day I hit 80 on her.
blah blah blah man if thats the case why dont they just hand us a little stick and loincloth. we play nude?
people like grinding to achieve stuff. you are lazy so you dont. go play a game where you dont have to put effort in
Some people might, but i think what was proven by the failed template versions of the game is that people just like gearing in pvp.
Literally my favorite thing to do in the whole history of WoW is to level a character that i feel inspired to play and to gear it up and see it get stronger. Then i can start rotating it in with my friends for ranked stuff, and will likely start on another one. For nearly a decade i could not get this experience from retail, but now its finally fully back and alt friendly.
the current system is near perfect, barring possibly some slight changes to the pacing. Its maybe 30% too easy.
yes.
the matches can go either way just like max level. some teams work well together and others…… not so much.
the ques in 71-79 are comparable to 80 except the epics take longer to pop.
