I just stopped talking in game. Any dark humor, satire, or edgelord joke is moderated. That is fine I guess nothing of value is lost so they say.
I will just let people use chat to discuss the game and min maxing.
Same crap happens on the forums. If people flag your post it doesnt matter if it is safe from a TOS perspective, their auto suspend kicks in and if you appeal you get an automated message stating it was correct. You could literally get mass reported for a phrase like āsorry I dont agreeā and they will act like it was against TOS.

I was mass reported by people who said they were going to get me auto-banned on the forums and my post was hidden and then unhidden by a moderator within 28 minutes. I continued posting the entire time.
There are no auto-bans from player reports on the forums, or in-game.

Something cannot be 100% false due to one data point. We have different experiences, yours had a moderator actually doing something. My experience has been with the auto system where no moderator actions occurred, just generated emails and penalty.
They should release the false reporters battle.net tag.
They just need to start tracking false bans and take away those players option to report or give a 1 month ban.

i wish that was what happened to me. but sadly no it went right to suspension until 2 days after WoTLK release.
You canāt be automatically suspended on the forums. Iām fairly certain that once your post is hidden by reports, it can no longer be reported. You have no idea how many times people have mass reported me in a futile attempt to prove me wrong.
Itās never worked, because the forums donāt have automatic suspensions and the game doesnāt have automatic suspensions from player reports.

We agree to disagree, as there are different types of reports people can abuse on the forums that dont just hide a post but suspend people for a volume of reporting. Please continue to defend Blizzard on this, Iām sure it is worth your effort.
