Everyone in R14

Pre-raid is interesting, it depends on how you value different stats but necks, cloaks, belt, rings, trinkets are all still the typical pre-raid BiS items you would get if you didn’t have R14 gear or access to BG reputation gear. For example Brigam Girdle from UBRS is BiS until you get Onslaught, Battleborn Armbraces also from UBRS is better than any other pre-raid bracers although WSG Exalted bracers are only slightly worse.

You get the idea.

Yes but I also know I won’t be farming SGC, True Strike, or weapons for the most part.

A few odd ball spots that R13/14 doesn’t cover but those big ticket items I can plan ahead on.

As well as the value on Deathbringer is way down now.

Im sorry to be the one to break it to you MT but the mere fact that this change is happening pretty much negates your take entirely. Maybe you’re the exception to the rule in all of this but I really don’t care to discuss exceptions since it takes the focus off the rule, which is far more relevant.

Ive said it before, Im a nochanges guy. Id prefer it not change. But if we didnt want it to change then we should have treated the game and each other with more respect, or at least learned how to by now.

Since it would appear that we are not mature and worthy enough to hold it down it needs to be taken away from us like matches from a 4 year old. Id love to object but then Id simply be ignorant and well, sometimes the news is just bad.

The players blew it. Case closed.

It will not be.

My server’s caps in 2019 classic (Kromcrush Alliance) were lower than the caps that will be in place next week.

No one in my guild had rank 14 btw

I updated it.

My servers caps (Stalagg) were well above any cap suggested so far.

Fairly certain those first weeks it was 1.2-1.4mil.

Yeah I understand, and SGC is potentially a huge time investment. I would rather PVP than do 400 arena runs.

That’s the funny thing about the weights. Technically Heroism is better than the R14 chest for a Fury Prot and it is only slightly worse than SGC (only +2 Threat EP over Heroism) for example. Another slot where this is the case is Gloves, where the Heroism is only very slightly behind R14.

You could probably get away with blindly just wearing the full R14 set because the spots where it is ahead by several EP will overshadow the spots where it is behind another piece that is better.

R14 for a Fury Prot (to keep things more simple cause that’s what I look at) is the clear winner in Shoulders, Legs and Boots. The other slots have a piece that is either really close or slightly better.

Most newbies will see that they just need to PvP for a while before they can get into most raids since they’ll be more than geared for them.

And that is why it’s getting changed!

1.2 million honor at 15K honor per hour is 80 hours per week of straight PvP. Add another 1-2 hours per day waiting for groups and you’re at a 90 hour per week commitment. That’s insane and unhealthy for a video game.

Do you think PvP will be more popular for players trying to get into PvE scenes?

Yes. Which is the entire point! To make the PvP scene more alive!

It is currently impossible to make any progress unless you’re willing to dedicate 80+ hours per week for 2+ months in a row. No reason to even try if you can’t make that commitment.

I completely agree. I’ve never tried it either (R14 atleast).

I will be attempted to get my warrior and hunter to R14 sooner than later. The gear has substantial upgrades for both of them.

750K honor / 15K honor per hour = 50 hours of pure PvP.

Add another 1-2 hours per day waiting for groups and you’re at 60 hours per week.

It still won’t be easy. That’s a full time job and a half.

The main advantage of the new system is that you can do it in 1-2 week bursts and then take a break, rather than needing to do the entire grind all at once (because you would de-rank in the old system).

The deranking is huge. If participation is up the cap isn’t too bad, but it’s 100% dependent on that.

I got to R10 as horde during Covid. Queues weren’t horrible but I also had to hit 800k a week towards the end.

I believe I acknowledged that as well as attempted to include a YMMV nod as well.
The ones that held an entire bg hostage for revenge or to farm the other side for ridiculously extended periods of time are richards. Threats and extortion? Same thing. RMT or botting is never in any situation in Era okay.

But to make it sound as though those players that did not see that kind of behavior on the regular or find it unusual isn’t necessarily being disingenuous or arrogant. Because

Not saying that those that were ill-treated by social misfits are simply manufacturing outrage. The drama comes from the troglodytes that crapped all over the game and other’s fun. There were quite a few players that found a group that was competitive and focused on helping everyone on the team reach their personal goals without being horribly disruptive to the game or others. Sweeping generalizations like tarring the entire process as run by a “bracket mafia” is unfair and inaccurate.

Again I attempted but apparently failed at conveying that bad apples spoiled this because they

*In my experience
I have acknowledged that experience isn’t universal so I do get why Blizz is doing this.

Ummmmm…

I don’t believe you were paying attention, or you have forgotten, exactly how the prevalent existence of the bracket Mafia was.

Just because people had a good time doesn’t mean they weren’t participating in the Mafia, at some level.

It’s terminology that isn’t fitting based on groups agreeing to mutual cooperation and not extortion.

You weren’t paying attention.

“Nice place you have here. It would be a shame if something happened to it because you broke the bracket.”

The attacks on reputations and the blacklisting were textbook.

Pity you and others did not have a better experience.
