Every few days update is stuck on initializing

tried all the fixes I’ve seen on online sometimes they work, but now they aren’t this happens every couple of days & I’m running out of solutions. It is ridiculous Blizzard please just fix your damn launcher man!!!

if my download ever gets stuck, I right click the battle.net icon in the system tray and “Exit”, and then I open task manager and kill “Agent.exe”, “Battle.net.exe” and other related exes. If it has the battle.net logo, I kill it.

Restart the launcher and it usually fixes itself that way.

I’ve tried that many times before, never works. I’ve waited hours for it to stop initializing. I’ve uninstalled reinstalled, cleared bnet cache, scan & repair, all of it.

The problem is the update agent process. On Windows task manager it is called:

Battle.net Update Agent (32 bit)

You only want ONE (1) of these processes running. Battlenet will ALWAYS try to start more than one. Just kill all the duplicates that are not using any cpu or memory, leaving just one process running.

On win10 you get a pop up asking for permission to start the update agent. Reply ‘NO’ to ALL of these requests. It just the crappy code in battlenet trying to start multiple update agents.

When there is just one update agent left, and no requests to start any more, as if by magic the update proceeds without any problems.
