I think that, as a quality of life enhancement to the game, every class should have access to an option that allows for at least 30% increased movement speed while out of combat and while indoors.
Shamans, Monks, Hunters, and Druids already have this. As a Priest, for example, I’m tired of having to spam Power Word Shield on myself when I’m merely trying to navigate indoors. Levitate could be buffed so that the Priest moves 30% faster while affected and while out of combat. I feel this ask should also include all other classes that don’t already have something like this. DKs could have Deaths Advance gain this passive. Warriors could get a Marching Stance skill. I don’t feel like this break the game in any way.
do u know that priests can put a feather on the ground to increase their movement speed, and it has three charges
This game needs a lot less homogenization
Yes, I am aware. But I’m not a fan of how often I have to spam my abilities just to move around outside of combat. If I’m not planning on entering combat and I’m in an area that does not allow mounts, I would appreciate greatly having the option to just use one spell to move faster like Ghost Wolf or Cat Form does for their respective classes.
its literally one spell. one button.
it gives 40% movement speed for 5 seconds.
if using one ability every 5 seconds is too much “spamming an ability” then idk maybe some afk mobile games where it plays for you would be more your speed cause it seems like you dont even want to play the game.
False. Feather has both a finite duration and number of charges. Please be more considerate with your future feedback, good sir.
so to be clear you dont want to play the game
you have movement speed increasing abilities but you dont want to use them
you want increased passive movement speed because you are lazy. that about sum it up?
You have a very good point, but that is an entire separate issue. I would agree that the classes should have their niches and unique quirks. I don’t believe that walking speed should be gate-keeped in particular.
But like…that’s part of the perk of playing those classes. Giving it to everyone would be kinda lame. And I say this as a priest main who’s usually the one who runs back to rez after a wipe if there was no soulstone. Make a speed set.
Instead of calling my idea lame or calling me lazy (not you, that other person said it), I’d appreciate feedback that focuses less on negativity. If allowing everyone to move faster while out of combat makes a class feel less special, than that class wasn’t special enough to begin with. I don’t feel that this change would remove any class’ individualism. Druids can flight form and dragon fly at instant speed. I’m cool with that. But if I can spam a bunch of abilities just to mimic what other classes can do with just a single button press, why can’t I also just get a single button press ability? Hunters don’t even have to press any buttons at all.
Idk…every class kinda gets a movement speed ability already…I wonder how chaotic things would get if every class had a move like the Warrior’s got with Second Wind where out of combat they regen HP
To be clear, I’m specifically talking about out of combat movement. I’m not asking to shake up anything about how combat or PvP plays out.
Like what.
The last thing the game needs is more homogenization, so it’s not a good idea. There. That’s your feedback. When you’re being told “no,” of course the feedback is going to be negative…
That’s what mounts are for.
To explain, quality of life homogenization isn’t a bad thing. For this particular issue, I don’t think any Druid or Shaman characters specifically play that class just because they can move fast indoors with a single ability. Granting all classes a way to walk faster isn’t lore-breaking either. Class homogenization is bad when it makes one class feel too similar to another, but I don’t believe what I’m asking for would do that at all.
You’re asking for changes in a non-issue. If Blizzard wanted people to move faster, they’d enable mounts.
I agree. So many tanks who can travel fast just leave specs and classes behind in dungeons who simply cannot keep up between pulls. My favorite alt is my warlock and taking a health loss to use a speed enhancement is garbage. Healers often times won’t heal you and even when I’m playing classes with better speed abilities I’d like to save them for a boss fight rather than try to keep up with a Demon hunter tank that is just being a jerk.
Please do not be so dismissive. It’s an issue for me, to the point where I’d create a discussion post about it.
If it is an issue to such an extent, the best thing you can do is to change what classes you play to classes that do have higher passive speeds. Because that’s what folks are trying to tell you: this is a non-issue.
Where these speed increases make sense and provide an actual benefit to the game, they are included. Usually in raids after a wipe you can get a speed boost to get back to the boss you are progressing on. But outside of situations like those? Nah’, this ain’t anything that’s an issue that requires solving (not even for you, regardless of you saying that it is).
You are also being dismissive. “Change your class” and “This is the way things are, deal with it” are not helpful contributions to this discussion.
