Then go play it and mind your own business.
And nobody is preventing you from, or even caring about you doing exactly that.
But on the other hand, if people are complaining about the 100g there and back respec fee while raidlogging… well, that should be their own personal problem and I shouldn’t be punished for their decisions with #stupidchanges.
Boomer take Btw
hmm… maybe more millenial take instead of your zoomer take, but ok
Darlin, it’s just a game we’re discussing. Not something earth shattering.
bump for tri spec
Idk the fact that u think most people only raid 1 day per week, it’s actually a troll statement. It would cost most people more than 100g to repec for pvp and pve each week. Which the cost would go up even more in later phases.
Yes i learned from history. I learned that dual slec was a great addition and has nothing to do with what is wting with retail.
You cant cime up with anything legitimate against dual soec so you resort to allegatiins if other changes happening. You dont want other changes. Worry about them if they are talked about. Until ppl are asking for a change, you are the only one bringing them up.
There were changes made after tbc that were bad for the game. There were also changes that made the game better. Dual spec made the game better and it did not lead to retail. Stop bringing up stuff ppl are not asking fir just because yku think they will. Who cares uf they do. We dont want the bad changes. Bad changes are the ones that affect the gameplay. Ds does not.
I’m fine with fixing obvious mistakes, like only giving SoB to the Horde, or changes which ramp up the difficulty in a game we have had 14 years to master, like prenerf raids and making Arena gear not faceroll easy to get.
I totally agree with the OP however on QoL changes, like Dual Spec or LFG tool. If you want things like that, retail is thetta way.
You’re unwilling to do any type of grind. Gold is extremely easy to get and it just gets easier when more dailies get out in in P2.
i don’t need to farm gold I have alot of it, just don’t want to throw it in the garbage. It’s a legit waste of gold to respect talents.
Retail already exists.
From a business perspective it makes sense to implement QoL features that improve player engagement. It does not make sense to “turn TBC into retail”. Retail already exists.
The reason I stopped resisting changes is because I don’t care. “TBC Experience” or “spirit of the game” is a stupid term people throw out to try and shutdown discussion and every single player will have a different explanation of what the experience or spirit of the game means to them.
I belong to a community that spends a large portion of the time in game doing nothing but maximizing profit you can make from the Auction house. I spend more time in my spreadsheets than i do in game. I would never suggest “you’re ruining the spirit of the game” by not enjoying the same aspects as me nor would I suggest you can only enjoy the game by playing it the same way I do.
Things change. They have already changed in TBC from the original version and they will change even more. You can actually have a discussion about whether or not the changes have a positive or negative effect but you really need to not be so emotionally attached to the subject.
If dual spec was implemented tomorrow I’m sure a bunch of people might actually quit. I also guarantee once they are done throwing an emotional tantrum almost every single one of them will be back.
Once the emotion is removed there isn’t really an argument against it for improving the quality of the game, or at least I have yet to see anyone attempt to even make an argument that doesn’t involve appealing to emotion or nostalgia.
What is there to do in TbC?
Nothing, why are you here lol
Farm rep, pvp, pve heroics and raids, crafting gear, dailies (more in P2) and alts.
There’s plenty to do, if you don’t enjoy it that’s not the games fault nor does it need to be “fixed”. And the respec costs help prevent gold inflation. If you don’t like the design of tbc, maybe you should find a different game to play instead of trying to make the game meet your desires.
So did you leave when they implemented the Drum changes or the Paladin Seal of the Martyn/Seal of Blood change?
Oh you didn’t quit? So you are okay with some changes just not others? What meets your criteria for a change that you’re okay with?
From my examples it seems like you are 100% okay with changes that fundamentally alter the mechanics of the game but not okay with Quality of Life changes that have no underlying gameplay impact?
fickle.
Some of the changes were bad, some were good, but most were bad.
I like not being required to be a LW in my semi hard-core raid guild. I like that the paladin change helped the faction balance a little and overall had minimal effects on class balance for paladins. I like the spell batching change as the game feels much more responsive, and I like being able to pvp without a HUGE wait time. But I would rather lose all of those things to also lose store mount and paid boosts, but I’m not in charge. The best I can do is point out why changes are bad based on the change being discussed and try and prevent the game from being more and more like retail.
Some changes had benefits to the game, others had devastating consequences. I can point out consequences of dual spec to try and prevent a change I know will hurt the game.bif dual spec gets in I might still play, but every change they have made have made me want to quit more and more. Will dual spec be the straw that broke the camels back for me? I don’t know, but it’s another straw on its back.
Point out a consequence then please because I’ve been asking for weeks now for someone to actually make an argument that isn’t an appeal to emotion or nostalgia.
So whether or not a change is good is based on your individual opinion of it?
You’re not actually pointing to WHY the changes will be bad, you’re just saying that they WILL be bad.
I liked rolling drums in original TBC with my caster group. I liked playing my Blood Elf paladin and doing things alliance paladins couldn’t.
However, unlike you, I am able to put aside my personal preferences and see how these changes are healthy for the game and will contribute to it’s longevity not take away from it.
No, it’s based on if it’s healthy or toxic gameplay.
Do you think the world buff meta was healthy gameplay? If they didn’t change drums, drums would have been the new world buffs.
So you don’t think dual spec vastly changing class viability, spec weaknesses no longer being a thing because you can change per fight, what the meta is, gold sink removal, exc aren’t bad for the game? Got it…
