I think that is part of the OPs complaint:
IF you don’t want to do the content don’t expect the rewards and move on with your gaming doing other things, or suck it up Buttercup and do something you don’t like in order to get said rewards.

The whole thing just feels arbitrary to me. The game was better with end points instead of infinite grinds. It made you feel like you made progress instead of just staying afloat.
As for the idea that people need to suffer for rewards in a game, that just doesn’t seem like a game. Having fun and being rewarded don’t have to be antithesis.
Personally I feel like the grind is awful on alts because its the same grind. There is no real accomplishment for it, its just a waste. Hopefully Torghast, which will be a different experience each time for different classes, will offer more a more rewarding experience.

This isn’t a decent argument, and it never has been. Nobody is telling them that their opinion is wrong, but these people are effectively asking to be given rewards without doing content associated with the reward.
We get it, you don’t like visions. Visions are what this patch currently is. That’s not going to change, it can’t change. They can’t create an entire new stretch of content and hotfix it in with Shadowlands on the horizon.

I think the main issue is the entire system is garbage and has basically made gearing feel incredibly unrewarding in a game whose sole driving force is all in on gearing at this point.
